Very disappointed

Wanted something very small for hiking when i don't want to bring my good binoculars but this isn't it. Very poor image quality. For the price i wasn't expecting Zeiss or Leica quality but i did expect something usable. Returned it the next day. Very...

Best lightweight close-focus monocular

Best lightweight close-focus monocular

This is the lightest close-focus monocular I have found. And it's one of the cheapest monoculars on the market, so overall a very good value. I often carry it around in my shirt pocket, primarily for viewing small objects up close but also for...

Carson Close-Up Monocular: a great optical device!!

The Carson Close-Up Monocular is a great optical device! It has excellent optics, is easy to use, is small and light weight. It has the additional advantage of being able to focus at an extremely close distance, I believe of about 10 inches!!! This...

Good device -- poor packaging

I had trouble deciding what kind of rating to give; here's why: I ordered two of these and received Amazon's typical fast service. However, these fragile optical devices were shipped in a book box--no padding. One device was broken (internal lenses...

Carson Close-Up comments

It came quickly from Amazon as usual. It works as advertized. You can view up close if you want to as well as from a distance. The first thing that struck me was how light it is. It's small and unobtrusive. You can take it anywhere and not know you are...

Close distance nature walks, NOT a binoculars substitute

Close distance nature walks, NOT a binoculars substitute

Lightweight and compact enough for a shirt pocket, with small lightweight black nylon belt pouch and lanyard. But I'm a little disappointed with this item despite having researched it thoroughly and having modest expectations. It requires two hands to...

I'll be darned. This monocular actually delivered as advertised. I think most of us know that when you purchase any optical instrument at very low price; chances are that somewhere along the way it will have problem. Another Carson product I...

Great Product!

Great Product!

I bought the Carson 7X18 monocular for nature walks. The quality optics let me see far and close objects quite clearly. Focusing is easy. It is very light and fits easily in my pocket. This is a quality product at a very reasonable price.
