Made in People's Republic. Japanese brand, manual with lots of Japanese, but tiny, at the bottom, you see our friend, the Not-Japan. Just so you know.

I tried many 8x40 and went for the Nikon, because they were very good optically and I know the brand well (used their cameras for ages) just this size is a bit bulky, but the optics are well worth the compromise. Very nice.
