Sony BDP-S470

Overall, the Sony BDP-470 is a good entry-level Blu-Ray player that boasts several impressive features but lacks the quality and performance that consumers expect out of a Sony product. Several users reported horror stories of defective players getting...

Value- good price compared to other players on the marketErgonomic- one of the most compact Blu-Ray players availableCompatible- supports the latest Blu-Ray standards, including 3DAdvanced- compatible with Internet streaming, WiFi adapter sold separately

Flawed- overwhelming complaints against DNLA capability

The BDP-S470 is one of the lightest and most compact Blu-Ray players...

Sony BDP-S470

The new Sony BDP-S470 is Sony's first standalone 3D Blu-ray player to hit the market. But unlike the BDP-S770 which will come 3D-ready straight out of the box, the midrange BDP-S470 will require a firmware update to support 3D playback. That update is...

The launch of 3D players such as the BDP-S470 at a competitive price level by Sony is a step forward in hastening mass market adoption of 3D. But with additional costs involved in upgrading to a 3D HDTV and special 3D glasses it remains to be seen how...

Great player for the money!

A great Bluray player for the price. Paid $80 at Fry's about a week ago. Streaming options play great. However, Netflix will only play items in que. I would like to see a nicer chassis but for $80 it is hard to complain. Also, having issues getting...

Offers many streaming options, 3D upgradeable, excellent picture quality, connects to NAS server to play files, and can use iPod touch to control player

Have to create an account on Sony servers before you can connect to streaming media options, remote looks cheap, and the player itself does not look very good

Wonderful Product

I've had this player for several weeks now and can not find anything that I don't like. It does everything it's advertised to do and you can't beat the price. I'm using a wired internet connection and HDMI 1.4 via Denon 3D passthru.

Fast startup, loads quickly, slim, very quiet, outstanding picture, easy to use. 3D video is amazing! Streaming Netflix, youtube, Pandora, is the added bonus

So far I have no complaints

Good for the money!

Overall i am pleased with this product however, I wish that companies could figure out a way to give customers HD quality sound without extra cords. This player has 3D capabilities and plays all discs very well. Up conversion not bad either. I would...

easy to use, very slim, many extra features, 3D future proofing

not easy thus far to use BD-live features, the only way to use DTS and Dolby HD is by using an optical or coaxial cable. i am sure many players are like this however

Sony BDP-S470 3D Blu-ray Disc Player

This is a Blu-Ray disc player that can play both 3D video and regular movies. It is thin, easy to use, and is capable of accepting online content. The first reason I got this was because it is Sony. I love Sony products and I have never had a ...

Easy to use and set up. 3D. HDMI and optical outputs. Internet access. USB

Does not accept every video format. Requires a remote

SONY BLURAY PLAYER

The reason I didn't give this 5 stars was that I must get a part before connecting to Netflix, etc. The movies I have played look so much better than they do on my regular player, though.
