Sony BDP-S500 1080p Blu-Ray Disc Player

From the beginning there were annoying delays in start-up and change. After a year the machine began to "freeze". Finally it stopped working altogether. I got the update disc from Sony to no avail.

Blu ray is great, but the device isn't as good. It takes too long to open/close the DVD holder and the remote is somewhat picky. The Playstation version of the blu-ray works much better.

So far so good. Dont buy the HDMI cable before you know if your TV will accept it. I spent $50 on the cable and never needed it. Otherwise so far so good.

The picture clarity is great. Other reviews indicated slow to load CD & I agree. Hard to open & Close the disc drive with the remote. I'd check others out first.
