LG BD611 review

The remote control didn't work on the first unit, I did the exchange & have no problem since. It is a very basic player.

Easy To Use, Compact

Inconsistent

Excellent Bluray for the money

Excellent Bluray for the money! Has played every file type I have thrown at it, MKV, AVI, XVID mpeg4 all in high def. Upscaling of regular DVDs is awesome if you are using HDMI cable. It will NOT do this with component cables, menus are very well layed...

No Streaming services, but I knew this coming into the player, its a 2nd player for me

Got a great deal

Does not have Netflix capability, but I know this going in, so it's not a con. The lower price is due to the fact that it does not have streaming apps or wireless internet. So if you're buying it just for the Blu-ray player (which I was) it is great!

Purchased the unit on sale, so I got a great deal. The USB port is nice for slide shows during parties. The DVD upscaling is great, and the Simplink connectivity was a bonus because I have an LG TV

Has network port, but unit gives an error when you try to upgrade

Poor upscaling

Nice low end player

This does not upscale a DVD to 16x9 widescreen ; My 2 year old insignia does this ; Upscaling is limited to the next resolution only
