Samsung BD-EM53 Blu-Ray Player

Got this because all I had was a DVD player and it was time to upgrade. Was thinking of getting an XBox or Playstation but realistically I don't play many games (and I don't have kids). So wanted something that was nice but not too pricey. Got this...

Finally have a Blu-ray DVD player for my classroom that works. I love the simplicity of the remote and the ease at which a student can actually start and stop the movie.

This well-designed model delivers consistently pleasing images, and did well on DVD upconversion, but it lacks the streaming capabilities found on many competing models.

All players support the requisite (but hardly-used) 3D and come with HDMI 1.4a outputs. As you'd expect, all the new players can upconvert video to 1080p via HDMI and 36-Bit Deep Color is supported for compatible displays.
