Bought it to replace a Sony "smart" DVD that was not smart at all with a lousy interface and stupid remote. Also had Panasonic, Samsung and Toshiba players before. This is so far much better and maybe one of the best below $200 ? Great picture quality....

Very disappointed on samsung. Doesn't work half the time. Can't tell if it is on or off as there are no indicator lights. Started having issues after week 3. I thought more of samsung.

For DVD and Blu-ray playback, the video performance stands at average which is actually reasonable for a $120 Blu-ray player. But what makes the Panasonic DMP-BD87 really valuable is the built-in Wi-Fi and support for various online services.

I really like the Netflix feature. It plays 3 episodes automatically, then goes into stand by. I put it on at night and it doesn't blow through an entire series the way my PS3 did if I fall asleep.
