We wouldn't recommend the Philips BDP5506 over competing Blu-ray players.

Was cautiously optimistic about this product. Unfortunately, it was defective. Would have been happy to give 5's straight down the line. Wish I did not have to return this player.

This refurbished Blu-ray player has worked perfectly for me. It's not flashy, doesn't have a gooey interface, and doesn't look like much, but it's perfectly functioning, and it was cheap, so I can't ask for any more.
