HP Blu-Ray Writer Has Many Issues

If you find a reliable Blue-Ray writer, please let us know.

I bought my HP laptop with HDMI in 2009 with similar problem. Now it is better. Nothing except Blu-Ray writer did not work

HP Product Managers should test its products as users before release to market. I ended up to return twice in 3 months

This product is made by HP, but is NOT supported by HP.

I spent 2.5 hours today talking to HP tech support. Apparently it is so new, that they have not heard of their product yet. Surprisingly, their final advice is to return the product to the store because they do not have any software driver support for...

Drive write-speed

The HP BD340i does BD-R DL write does not work 50% of the time. This is expensive because each individual blank BD disk is $10, or $100 for pack of 10. The product is not listed anywhere on HP's website - they have no software drivers available

Burning to bluray Disc

Buy a Lite -On or Pioneer they support there products. I would take this one back if I had know sooner that it would not have been supported by HP. Wasted $139.00. and about $100.00 in discs that are now useless.

Burns great to dvd5 and dvd9 for avchd or dvd. Forget the blu-ray Discs wast of money unless HP has a fix whiich I havenot been able to find anywhere

Make a lot of bad blu-ray discs unusable expensive. It will burn a disc 1 out of 5. The other 4 are useless it try to start the burn than says burn to disc failed and makes the disc useless

BD writer with nice software package.

Decent BD burner for the price. Full featured Cyberlink BD Solutions software make creating my first BD movie a snap! Called HP support about some bad discs and the provided a firmware update that fixed the problem. Excellent

Bundled Cyberlink BD Solutions ; 12x BD write ; Also supports CD + DVD write ; Reasonable price

12x BD write only on specific media
