LG BD370 BLu-ray Player

Last year's CES saw the Korean magnate LG's new approach to BD viewing, a step from their previous BD 300 model, called the BD 370. It took some time to hit our time zone, but it's here now, and gaining popularity. A good standalone Blu-ray Disc player...

The MRP is Rs. 19,990, while MOP is Rs. 17,990, thus we have reasonable price comparatively. The player has a very nice YouTube feature, which is not a gimmick. It looks sleek enough for the most post modern decors and finally, most importantly, the...

LG Electronics BD370 Blu-Ray Review

CinemaNow, Netflix On Demand, and YouTube ; Fantastic Blu-ray image quality ; Speedy startup

Annoying front panel ; Difficult-to-use remote control ; Disappointing DVD image quality

A terrific picture, a responsive interface, and plenty of streaming goodness make the LG BD370 a terrific player, despite a few shortcomings.

LG BD370

LG earned our admiration when it introduced the BD300, the fastest-loading Blu-ray disc player we'd ever seen. Now the new LG BD370 Network Blu-ray Disc Player ($299 list) features the speedy disc-handling of its predecessor at an initial price that's...

Stylish, clean design. Fast start-up and disc-loading speeds. Streams Netflix and YouTube video

Below-average DVD upconversion. Poor image quality with 1080i video sources. Optional memory required for BD-Live support

The LG BD370 Network Blu-ray Disc Player's fast disc-handling speed and slick styling are tempered by subpar DVD upconversion performance.

LG BD370

If you've been following the Blu-ray market, it was getting obvious toward the end of 2008 that standalone players needed to innovate, since previous step-up features, like Profile 2.0 and DTS-HD Master Audio, were becoming standard. LG was the first...

Streams Netflix and YouTube; Profile 2.0 compatible; onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio Essential; relatively quick load times

Competitors offer better image quality on Blu-ray and DVD; no Wi-Fi option

LG's entry-level Blu-ray player packs Netflix and YouTube at a reasonable price, but the BD370's image quality is a step below the best.

LG BD370 "Connected" Blu-ray Player

LG announced their update to the very exciting BD300 player. When it hit the shelves, it was one of the first Blu-ray players (nay, devicesin general) that could stream Netflix content. The BD370 takes this to the nextlevel by offering not only Netflix...

Review: LG Electronics BD370 Blu-ray player

A terrific picture, a responsive interface, and plenty of streaming goodness make this a terrific Blu-ray player, despite a few shortcomings.

Fantastic Blu-ray image quality ; Speedy startup ; CinemaNow, Netflix On Demand and YouTube

Annoying front panel ; Disappointing DVD image quality ; Difficult-to-use remote control

Images looked clear and detailed, with a dimensionality that popped out at us, making the visuals extraordinarily compelling. Matched against those of our reference Sony PlayStation 3, the BD370's images were obviously superior

LG BD370 Review

The next step in Internet-enabled video-on-demand.

About the Youtube viewing. Some of the Youtube clips have an option to view them in HD quality (the HD button on the Youtube interface when accessing via PC browser). However, the player can't seem to access this feature. I have no idea if this will be...

"Good but could be much better"

A decent buy but probably hard to find now. I have owned for one year so I can say it has been reliable. I'm ready to upgrade for a unit with more features including Pandora!

Mostly solid Blu-ray player. Has Netflix and Youtube. Decent price. Nice interface. Good beginner unit.

Would not play Toy Story 3 and Ice Age 3.(but has played everything else) Could not update firmware through internet so had to request firmware upgrade by mail (Customer Service did send CD within 4 days) Really wish unit had Pandora.

"Decent player, and cheap, but not dependable."

I'd steer away from this product, as I have (now) read plenty of bad reviews of this player. It seems pretty unstable and problematic.

It plays blu-rays, and it doesn't cost a fortune. I also found the Netflix capability very handy.

DVDs don't work for me. I got a firmware update, and it just doesn't go. It's not that big of a deal, since my computers can play DVDs no problem, but it is one of the features I was looking for when I bought it.
