LG BD570

Aside from the price break, the BD570 hasn't changed much from the BD390. Yes, the BD570 doesn't have 7.1 analog-audio outputs, but there's still NetCast streaming services (including Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, Pandora, and Picasa), built-in Wi-Fi, and it...

Excellent Blu-ray image quality; Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, Pandora, and CinemaNow streaming; built-in Wi-Fi; plays music, videos, and pictures off a connected USB drive or via network

Does not support 3D Blu-ray; no quick-start mode, which makes it feel slower compared with some other players; media interface is overdesigned; no onboard storage; must change the output mode to 1080p

As long as you don't need 3D compatibility, the LG BD570 offers the same mix of solid Blu-ray playback and media streaming that made its predecessor a hit.

LG BD570

When we reviewed LG's BD390 ($450, ) Blu-ray disc player last year, we were impressed with its quick disc handling and networking prowess. We're happy to report that the company's new BD570 ($299.99 list) builds on the BD390's success, delivering even...

Very fast load times. Wi-Fi enabled. Lots of Internet content streaming options

Finicky remote buttons. So-so upconversion performance

The LG BD570 is a full-featured Blu-ray player offering wired and wireless network connectivity, excellent HD imagery, and speedy disc loading. Its standard definition quality is a tad noisy, however, and the included remote control is difficult to use.

If you do not mind the minor flaws, such as limited standard DVD upscaling and poorly designed remote, then by all means this may just be the Blu-Ray player for you. The LG BD570 combines the connectivity of integrated wireless and wired networking...

Imperfect- standard DVD upscaling and remote need improvement

LG BD570 review – Excellent Blu-ray quality, lacks 3D playback

LG BD390 was the first “must buy” Blu-ray disc player with 7.1 analog audio ports; inbuilt storage; good range of streaming services; and inbuilt Wi-Fi. Now, the company has launched its new product – $250 priced LG BD570, which is less as compared...

Perfect picture quality; inbuilt Wi-Fi; online streaming services such as CinemaNow, Pandora, YouTube, Vudu, Netflix, Picasa, and Weather; plays photos, videos and music through USB drive or DLNA compatible networked computer

No inbuilt storage; over-designed media interface; no quick-start mode; missing support for 3D Blu-ray; need to change up to 1080p output mode

If you need an affordable Blu-ray disc player and can work without onboard storage and quick start mode, then you can buy LG BD5700. However, if you need onboard storage then you can go for LG BD590 and think about Sony BDP-S570 for 3D playback.

LG BD570

We love the clean lines and sleek design of the LG BD570; the fantastic video and audio features aren't half bad either. We only wish this Blu-ray player had surround sound capabilities. If you're looking for a player with 7.1 channel audio output,...

A protective cover shields the disc tray and buttons, making the player look sleek

Surround sound isn’t possible because it doesn’t have a 7.1 channel audio output

This player has all the best features if you don’t mind sacrificing surround sound.

LG BD570

The LG BD570 builds on the success of last year's  BD390 by offering all the useful features like built-in Wi-Fi, excellent blu-ray playback, DLNA capability, and an expanded suite of streaming services but at a much lower price.

The LG BD570 offers a neat hi-def playback solution for those who have an HDMI-equipped receiver. It has useful set of networking features and a robust suite of NetCast streaming services wrapped in a very cost effective package. Highly recommended.

Great picture but buyer beware!!!

We bought this player the weekend after Thanksgiving in 2010. It was great for the first 7 months. CNET references slow load times. Sure, it takes a bit but I didn't find it annoying in the least. However, in June, it suddenly quit playing any blu-ray...

Picture quality is fantastic and Netflix streaming is great!! Load times not much worse than our standard dvd player. Menu settings VERY easy to navigate/understand

EXTREMELY POOR build/design quality and customer support. No effective warranty support either

LG Blu-ray Compatability Problem

My LG BD390 Blu-ray player won't play 'The Kings Speech' or 'Rango'. It starts up and then the screen just flickers green and after a few seconds of that it just turns itself off. I stand there feeling frustrated with compatability issues and my wife...

BD390 is a good player

Unable to play several (many?) BluRay Discs

Engineers in Korea have been trying to provide a firmware update that will allow King's Speech to play for over eight weeks now (according to LG customer support). Given that other manufacturers and other LG models do not have this problem, it leads...

Generally very good when it works

Currently cannot play "The King's Speech" "Tangled", etc
