LG BD640

Although 3D blu-ray players are getting more ubiquitous, LG is giving consumers more options by introducing the LG BD640 for those who do not want to pay for something they may not need. Even without 3D support, the BD640 has more than enough features...

The truth that most people do not own a 3D ready TV or receiver makes the LG BD640 a welcome introduction. For some, it is pointless to pay more for a 3D blu-ray player without actually enjoying that feature. That’s when the BD640 comes in. It delivers...

Never Again

It Worked

Unit stopped working after less than 3 months, no signal being sent to TV through a working HDMI chord. The customer support website unusable, it wouldn't let me through to register the complaint as it said PLEASE ENTER A VALID CELL NUMBER, even though...

Pretty happy

Love the True 24fs output

Wireless dangle on the front. Would have been nice to have a usb port on the back for wireless and tying in an external hard drive

Forget Computer based BD Players

The audio issue is something I didn't anticipate and I'm sure I won't be the only one. I am done with BD Rom units built into my computers as well as USB BD Rom units, the software is just awful and I've tried them all. Eventually they just don't work....

Played the first two Blu-Rays I threw at it so far. This is a rarity around my house

Volume control. Maybe I should have known but if you HDMI this into a monitor without speakers and then run audio out from your monitor to your speakers you will have no volume control except the volume knob on your speakers. No remote control via this...

Nice, not great

All in all, this is a nice player, but nothing like what I expected.

Wonderful picture and loads blu-ray much faster than other players I've had. It also updates the firmware automatically when connected to a WIFI network. Plays media through USB well, and streams Netflix

WIFI is not built in. It is accessed through a USB card and is unstable at times. Mine has also locked up a couple of times and had to be unplugged to reset

Bad Design

Many features

Very bad design. The Wi-Fi is on a USB dongle that connects to the front of the player

Nice little unit

Glad now my old HT set up died. For around a thousand I have BD player. HD projector and a receiver/stereo package. On a 10 foot screen!

Small. Light. Good internet connection. We live rural and do not actually have good hhigh speed internet. In fact it is often irritating on our computers. But, this unit can almost always let us watch youtube or netflix. Picture is quite good,...

Had to search a bit to find subtitles on remote - it is under disc menu

Great player!

This is a very good player. I hooked it up with no issues, I connected it to my wireless network with no issues, and I have played back Blu Ray, DVD and CD discs without any issues at all. Everything looks and sounds great. It does seem a bit...

Works Great ; Wireless ; Perfect Quality ; YouTube access is nice

Wireless dongle is very large ; A bit on the slow side

Sleek Design ; Easy Setup ; Easy Network Connection ; Fast User Interface ; Great Selection of Apps

The only complaint I could think of is that it's a fingerprint magnet
