LG BD650

Not contended with simply making its mark with its 2D blu-ray players, the LG BD650 fortifies LG's serious intent into competing in the 3D market. With the success of its predecessor, the BD590, the BD650 had big shoes to fill. And it does not...

The LG BD650 may not have been the first to jump on the 3D bandwagon, but it is definitely no slouch in that department. The BD650 has managed to build on the success of its predecessor by retaining some of the popular features and correspondingly,...

Streaming Applications Problems

Blu-Ray movies play and the unit has good controls

As a blue ray player the model works fine. It plays movies as it should ; However, I have ongoing problems with the streaming video service. First , the NHL application in the premium service doesn't work. There is an ongoing software problem that...

Plays Everything Needed

I wanted a player that could play DIVX and hook up to my network, but after reading the reviews I was afraid that this player would be able to that. After receiving the player I hooked up the cables and it worked like a charm. It connected my network...

despite the other reviews this player DOES play DIVX, MVK and Blue-rays just fine. It connected to my network (wired) with no issues, I was able to view movies and pictures. It plays Netflix (see cons) and Pandora also. Connected to Picassa (after 2...

Poor performance

Plays standard DVDs and Blu Ray disk with any problems. Power up and off is slow

Very Slow at playing premium sources such as Netflix. Often hangs in spite of having a number of auto updates

Buy any other player. This player is so terrible that I will never buy another LG product again.

It probably plays something without being slow or buggy ; Frequent firmware updates that don't seem to fix any issues

Most of the time, it takes two power cycles before it will output video ; Netflix freezes the player pretty often ; Many features still say "coming soon ; Rewinding Netflix, DVDs, Blu-Rays, and media usually doesn't work ; Netflix search does not work...

1 bricked. Neither sync sound on mp4's.

While I was on the phone with support looking for help with the bricked unit, the rep had the nerve to suggest that the mp4 file I was playing was responsible for bricking the unit. Wow. I had high hopes.

Tons of features. Network connectivity. Netflix streaming. Will play your media library from various sources / connections. Lots of other network-available content. Oh yea, it plays blu-ray and DVDs

Of two that I bought, one bricked itself while I had an MP4 paused for a few minutes ; Fails to synchronize sound when playing my mp4 library. VLC, Windows Media Player, XBMC on Apple TV, iPad all have no sound sync issues ; The warranty is...

LG BD650 Follow-up

LG still has not returned my inquiry on subtitles support for Netflix on this player. I am guessing this is a Netflix standard, but it would be nice to get an email back on my question. FYI...most players probably do this these days, but it will...

Still works! LG has added HuluPlus app to line-up. LG also re-worked app menu so access to Netflix is slightly quicker ; Purchased an LG wi-fi adapter for this to use in a location that I did not have any Cat-5/6 cable run to. Wireless works well on...

Loses wi-fi connection randomly. This is annoying to my wife who is not as comfortable messing with connection settings every time the kids want to watch something on that TV ; Gives warning message that connection to files stored on PC may be slow...
