LG BP530

You can get a lot of Blu-ray player for under $100 these days, including built-in Wi-Fi and a full suite of streaming-media services to supplement your disc-playing needs.

The LG BP530 offers a fine selection of streaming services, built-in Wi-Fi, and decent disc playback. It also features subtle styling and a well-laid-out remote and is easy to use, despite some user interface clutter.

Netflix loads particularly slowly. The neat Private Listening feature only works with discs, not apps, and isn't reliable. And there are minor image quality issues for picky viewers.

The LG BP530 has built-in Wi-Fi and a good selection of apps, but there are just enough quirks to keep it from being a top Blu-ray player pick.

"Do not buy: not working even after exchange."

After exchange, some of the same problems exist. It is still skipping randomly. It stopped completely once. My expectations for today are more of the same problems.

Can't think of any

Skipped randomly throughout shows on Netflix, DVD, and Blu Ray.

"Don't buy this BluRay."

Like the set-up and on screen menu.

Software is damaged, constantly drops you from the wireless router. Like the set-up and on screen menu. Bought two machines both had software problems, LG is aware of the problem.

Amazing at the price I bought it

At first glance, this DVD player looked no more special than any other typical one out there. Setting up was a breeze. As I was using my own LG branded HDTV, I would've hoped so too. The features of this device are pretty good however not all will be...

Excellent

Very easy setup ; Fast boot up time ; Beautiful picture ; Easy to setup wireless or using a wired lan

Wireless a little slow to connect sometimes, but this issue may be due to the ATT U-verse router and the fact that we have both the Blu-ray player and the wireless DirecTV genie sitting together

LG BP530 3D Blu-ray Disc Review

Happy with Overstock as well as the product. LG is one of my new favorite tech companies and Overstock has some good deals.

Great Player with real English Tech Support

Spent hours trying to get a Toshiba Blue Ray to work with no Technical Support. Was forced to purchase Tech support through AT&T.Even after that Toshiba unit would only work wirelessly without password protection on Wifi.Returned unit and ordered this...

Positive!

I was very pleased to find this model available at Overstock after reading that it was a "best buy". The first blu-ray player arrived defective--it simply would not turn on. Overstock was very quick to replace the unit with no hassle at all. The second...

Good picture with Blu-Ray and DVD, a few problems, don't buy if you have other region DVDs

If you want good quality 2D and 3D Blu-Ray, and good 1,080p upscaling of DVDs, this is for you. However there are some flaws, which if I'd known about I would not have purchased. 1) The internet connection, either by WiFi or Ethernet, is pretty flaky,...

Good video and audio with BD, especially with a good screen and receiver with Dolby HD, good upscaling with DVD

Can't make DVDs region free, unstable, poor internet connection, indifferent LG customer service
