Panasonic DMP-BD10 Blu-ray player reviewed

The Panasonic DMP-BD10 is the second standalone Blu-ray player to become available, not quite making its expected September launch but sneaking onto store shelves near you this month. Was it worth the wait and/or the $1,300 price tag? Compared to the...

Panasonic DMP-BD10 Blu-Ray Player

After the Samsung BD-P1000 came out in July, it seemed like an eternity before anyone brought another Blu-ray player to market. Actually, it was about six months before the Panasonic DMP-BD10 appeared, which is close to an eternity in the fast-paced...

Panasonic DMP-BD10 Blu-ray Disc Player

It's also possible that the earliest Blu-ray Discs share some of the responsibility for the soft Blu-ray launch as well. MPEG-2 coding was used for the first releases, which were limited to single-layer 25GB discs. The full 50GB promise of Blu-ray,...

Panasonic DMP-BD10 Blu-ray Disc Player: First Look

We obviously haven't seen it yet, but Panasonic's first entry in the Blu-ray arena is somewhat remarkable in at least one respect- unlike the Pioneer and Sony players it will playback CDs! In addition to playing back HD from Blu-ray Disc, the Panasonic...

This is a great player that has many good features.

Dolby TrueHD Decoding, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio Decoding, 7.1 Channel Analog Output, DVD-Audio and AVCHD support, frequent firmware updates, good overall build quality

Disc tray is thin and appears more likely to break than other devices, no DTS-HD Master Audio Decoding, no HDMI 1.3

Why CNET gave this player the same scoring total of 6.5 as the Pioneer BDP-HD1 is beyond me. It should at least have got a 7.5 from CNET for its better features even when factoring in its higher price as compared to other BD players. Please note this...

Plays almost any disc with great DVD upconversion, too

Unlighted remote, doesn't play HD-DVDs, no network connection

I cannot compare with other player, since I have seen only one other player owned by a friend. I mostly make my choices by compiling independent reviews before wathing the one or two devices I have selected. This is why updates are very important. As...

Very clean and crispy images

None with firmware update 2.0

Panasonic DMP-BD10

So far it looks like when Panasonic brought out this unit , seems that they did their homework (well sort off) . The unit works and does what it suppose to do ... plays disc w/o interruptions . Although some of the Blueray disc have that grainy look in...

It's a Panasonic. 1080P. Great Pic. Plays DVD+/-R

Slow startup. No HDMI 1.3 . Very expensive

Panasonic DMP-BD10 by Ben Williams

Right out of the box, this is a noticeably well-built player. While not as heavy as the Toshiba HD-A1 HD DVD player, it is still a very solid and seemingly sturdy. The design is very sleek with an all gloss-black appearance and a very clean, modern...
