good burner

If you purchase this item Do Not install the software.

Burns DVD and Blu-ray

Cyberlink software is one of the worst things ever installed. To make matters worse it will not uninstall just keeps trying to install the program. The software is why I only gave it 2 stars

Blu Ray: Still worth considering

If you plan on using multiple Blu Ray drives to manage your data, be ready to feed the data monster during simultaneous burns. That means (1) get a quality SSD or (2) get one mechanical drive per Blu Ray burner to feed the drives. 16x BD-R burn = 72...

When my NAS box was finally ready to fail, I considered whether I should rebuild and upgrade or switch to optical media. I decided that a single shelf of Blu Ray disks and a few burners was the best way to go because ; My data needs were modest ; UDF...

Linux blu ray burning requires significant command-line-fu at this time but is getting better ; Pioneer took months to release its drive utility which is used to control the PowerRead, Quiet Drive, and PureRead2 features. The drive utility is...

Don't buy this drive.

Work well for less than 4 months

I've owned this drive for less than 4 months, and it no longer reads blu rays, both blank and recorded. What good is a blu ray burner that won't read blu rays? I spoke to Pioneer tech support, and they told that it would take between 2 and 2 1/2 weeks...

Almost perfect except Blu-Ray movies

Cyberlink Media Suite 10 provided with this retail drive is 3 releases old however once installed it does allow you to verify Blu-ray playback of movies on the pc. If this drive proves reliable (this means more than a year of use) my next Pioneer drive...

As expected one of my oem dvd burners finally failed giving me more coaster than I care to mention. Decided to purchase a Blu-ray burner and decided Pioneer would be the choice having read many of the Newegg reviews. Good news is my old Roxio Creator...

Still cannot make archive copies of Blu-ray movies as it appears both DVD Decryptor and DVD Fab versions are NOT suitable for Blu-ray. Further testing will continue however I have no confidence I will succeed since both Fab and Decryptor are no longer...

Works as it should.

This is a great Blu-ray burner. The biggest pro is that it came with free Cyberlink software

Excellent Drive

I have had this drive for 4 months now without any problems. The included software which allows for writing BD as well as watching Blu-ray movies, has worked well. The unit is relatively quiet and speedy
