Great stuff

Wish 2 things - it came with a white bezel, and more importantly, it had light-scribe capability.

Good old Pioneer, no less. Works right off the bat, and works very very well, just as expected. Keep going Pioneer. Very nice price point at the Egg, Keep it up Egg

None to think of

Good hardware; very BAD software

Buy this drive for the hardware - it's a good drive. Consider the CyberLink software as trash and don't bother with it. One comment if you are looking to play Blu-Ray movie discs with this drive: you will need to buy a competent blu-ray player that...

Fast blu-ray burner ; Works well - I've always had good experiences with Pioneer drives ; Good value ; The Newegg purchase experience, as always, was very good - efficient and quick delivery

The included Cyberlink MediaSuite 10 is TERRIBLE ; I installed this suite primarily for data disk burning. The Power2Go component accomplishes this but disk verification can only be done as a post-burn function. There is no function to just verify a...

The optical drive to rule them all.

Though I doubt this drive will fail anytime soon, I would definately purchase it again. Pioneer has me sold, before I'd just use the optical drive that was in the OEM built system anyways, now I will stick to using this, and can use it in all of my...

This drive reads anything you throw at it (except HD-DVD, which is a dead format anyway) and it reads very quietly. I could only hear the fan of my Vantec USA NexStar DX External 5.25-Inch Optical Drive Enclosure. Although if it were installed...

Covers all the optical disc bases

Pioneer reputation for reliability ; Easy install, comes with free software to play but not rip Blu ray movie titles. Records widest range of optical media up to 125gb, including some M Disk ; There is a sownewhat hard to find current update link for...

Did not come with sata power or data cables, or mounting screws ; Cyberlink software has excessively intrusive "buy now" bloatware ; Model numbers on box and drive do not match, causing confusion ; Bundled Cyberlink software will only install with...

A+ thus far

Nothing exceptional about this drive, but, more importantly, no problems either. It fits my needs perfectly

good burner

If you purchase this item Do Not install the software.

Burns DVD and Blu-ray

Cyberlink software is one of the worst things ever installed. To make matters worse it will not uninstall just keeps trying to install the program. The software is why I only gave it 2 stars

Blu Ray: Still worth considering

If you plan on using multiple Blu Ray drives to manage your data, be ready to feed the data monster during simultaneous burns. That means (1) get a quality SSD or (2) get one mechanical drive per Blu Ray burner to feed the drives. 16x BD-R burn = 72...

When my NAS box was finally ready to fail, I considered whether I should rebuild and upgrade or switch to optical media. I decided that a single shelf of Blu Ray disks and a few burners was the best way to go because ; My data needs were modest ; UDF...

Linux blu ray burning requires significant command-line-fu at this time but is getting better ; Pioneer took months to release its drive utility which is used to control the PowerRead, Quiet Drive, and PureRead2 features. The drive utility is...

Don't buy this drive.

Work well for less than 4 months

I've owned this drive for less than 4 months, and it no longer reads blu rays, both blank and recorded. What good is a blu ray burner that won't read blu rays? I spoke to Pioneer tech support, and they told that it would take between 2 and 2 1/2 weeks...
