Great data backup drive

Haven't tried it for playing Blu-rays yet, but it ships with CyberLink PowerDVD 10. I don't have a Blu-ray software player for my computer yet and I hope this does it.

1. Quiet ; 2. Writes SL/DL/TL/QL Blu-Rays though the latter two are terribly expensive and hard to find. Still the SL/DLs store 25GB to 50GB each. Cheap storage and a great backup to my harddrive based backups ; 3. CyberLink Power2Go is shipped with...

None so far. Love this drive

Great Blu-Ray writer

This was a replacement for an ASUS Blu-Ray writer that died within a year, quite annoying really. This new unit actually seems faster and while I've only had it for 3 months works great. I'll reserve the reliability issue for a later date,

Works great and is quite fast

Decent Drive, no 3D Playback Software

Works well, haven't burned any discs yet, but it's reading like a champ. The software included plays 2D Blu-rays fine

I got the impression from another review that this includes the version of Power DVD 10 that does 3D. It does NOT. So you still have to pay a ton of money if you want to get 3D playback if you get this drive

Three different model numbers in one!

Are you confused yet? Took off one star.

Supports BDXL and was able to read/play a 3D Blu-Ray disc

The retail box for this item will list the model number as BDR-2209, the drive itself will have a label with model number BDR-209UBK and when the drive is installed Windows will report the drive as model BDR-209M

Model Number Confusion Solved

The confusion comes from Pioneer shipping drives with a model number of BDR-209UBK in BDR-2209 retail boxes. The BDR-209UBK model number is CORRECT for the BDR-2209 package. Not to be confused with the BDR-209DBK, the BDR-209UBK is compatible with a...

Handles more BD formats than any other Pioneer BD Burner

Confusion exists about the advertised model number (BDR-2209) being different than the physical number on shipping drives (BDR-209UBK)
