Excellent DVD upconversion. Supports BD-Live and Bonus View. Integrated Netflix video and Pandora audio streaming.

A bit pricey. Above-average power consumption.

This talented player not only handles Blu-ray and standard DVDs with aplomb, it also streams Netflix and Pandora content.

Editors' note (March 30, 2009) : The rating of this player has been changed since its initial publication to reflect changes in the marketplace.

Excellent image quality on Blu-ray Discs; Profile 2.0 compliant; onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, plus bit-stream output; Netflix and Pandora streaming; 1GB onboard memory; 7.1 analog audio outputs.

PlayStation 3 may still offer a better value for some buyers; some disc compatibility issues; relatively slow loading times.

The Samsung BD-P2550 adds Netflix and Pandora to an already well-featured and top-performing Blu-ray player, with only some minor disc compatibility issues giving us pause.

Worked great for a year,

Picture freezes during playback. I performed the reset procedure but it only worked for a short time. I paid $350 for this stinking thing and it only lasted 14 months!!! Samsung wanted $160 plus shipping charges to repair it. I said no way. Next one...

Got this as a xmas gift from my parents. It was great, good picture, good sound. The wife loved pandora and netflix. About 9 months in the power button stopped working. We brushed off the issue because we used the remote. Now it's one year later and...

Good While It Lasted

Shortly after the warranty is up, the machine crapped out on us.

I liked the simplicity of installation, and connection to my wireless internet

The machine lasted only a little over a year, and then with little warning it just stopped working. Picture was always distorted, and the sound was off. The image, on the rare occasion that we could get it to play would freeze up every few minutes
