Get's the job done...slowly.

I bought this model at Costco and am satisfied if not thrilled with my purchase. It does have a nice image quality, but it is super slow to cycle the power or spin up a disk. Once it gets going it plays fine though. The firmware updates are a pain: it...

downloaded firmware upgrape from sharp, extracted it & placed it on a usb drive. gotts ta waaiitt for it. plays all blu-ray now. as of 21may11 lastest file is named HP22_113.MVP Probably have ta doit again when more DRM stuff is added to the blu-ray...

firmware is upgradeable. could use more internal memory for internet functions. Internet must be plugged in before power on. gotta buy a ethernet hub/gateway or rent 1 from comcast ; can be configured for 1020p and 5.1 audio. Has opticle audio port. HDMI

disney blu-ays wont load without firmware upgrade, slow response. of course slow is less watts. have not figured out if the thumb drive can be used for internet fuctions (16Gb)

Horrible Player

I own a Sharp Aquos LCD and I love it but the Blueray player is going back after 6 weeks of fustration. I hope the newer model works better. Very Very disappointed!!

Works well.. when it works. Like the pop up menu when it works

Takes forever to read disc, Won't start, freezes, Doesn't play most Blueray disc's, Quick start does work

Failed to Play James Bond

Slow but easy to use. Nice product with good picture and sound. Won't run some new blu-ray dvds, which is a deal breaker.

Good picture and setup features

Failed to play new James Bond blu-ray dvd. Slow starting up other blu-ray dvds. but at least they finally worked. No fixes or patches out for the firmware, yet

Killed a disc

The one I received ate the only disc I tried to play. The player and remote felt cheap. Kudos to Tigerdirect, retuning it for a refund was super easy.

Mediocre at best

Product is not as advertised. Many small bits were missing and the first one did not even work. Sharp is at best indifferent to complaints and your company never got back with me as they claimed they would. The experience has definitively soured me on...

dont buy

This thing is extremely outdated, has problems playing many new blu-rays. Very slow to turn on and slow to play movie. I updated the firmware and it did nothing. Do yourself a favor and buy something else.
