Sony BDP S380 Blu-ray Player

Sony have been focusing hard on the Indian audience with their Blu-ray players and home theatre systems. We recently reviewed the BDV-E980 3D Blu-ray home theatre system and besides it performing well, it offered fairly good value for money. In this...

The Sony BDP S380 sells at a maximum retail price of Rs. 8,990. This is a really good Blu-ray player by itself. Sony adding a LAN port and incorporating the Bravia Internet Video in it made this a great player. The only issues we had was that it had...

Sony BDP-S380 Blu-ray Player Reviewed

Sony's BDP-S380 Blu-ray player comes packed with loads and loads of apps, as well as its own control app for iPhones, iPods, and other devices. Reviewer Adrienne Maxwell takes a closer look in this review...

The BDP-S380 supports BD-Live and BonusView/PIP ; It has internal decoding and bitstream output of high-resolution audio sources ; The player is wireless-ready and supports a wide variety of online media services, including Netflix, Qriocity, Hulu...

This player is not 3D-ready ; It lacks multichannel analog audio outputs, so it's not the best choice for someone who owns an older, non-HDMI A/V receiver ; There's no advanced control port like RS-232 ; It lacks internal memory to store BD-Live...

At $150, the BDP-S380 is Sony's least expensive Blu-ray player and offers a solid complement of features, such as SACD playback, a remote control app, and an excellent assortment of video-on-demand and other Web services. That said, for a modest step...

Sony BDP-S380

With 3D Blu-ray players all the rage in 2011, Sony has diverged from the norm by introducing the Sony BDP-S380. While it may not have a 3D features unlike Sony's latest additions, it has more than enough interactive features to keep you entertained....

With 3D feature taking off in full flight only recently; it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Another reason is that most people do not own a 3D TV. The Sony BDP-S380 is ideal for anyone who desires a no frills 2D blu-ray player and easy on the wallet.

Sony BDP-S380

This is a very nice player, for just the average person that doesn't need all the bells and whistles. You can also update the players drivers via burnable CD, and play files off your USB drive.

This player is lightweight, syncs with other Anynet+ devices, boot time is pretty good, and the light bar on the front is not annoying

This does not play PAL formatted discs. There is no on board wireless. You need the Sony UWA-BR100 wireless adapter if you want to go wireless
