Sony BDP-S790 Blu-ray Player

The Sony BDP-S790 Blu-ray player does a good job of performing at a high quality level, but at an affordable price. Dual HDMI outputs, Original Resolution mode, and multiple video settings are available to work well in any system.

Sony BDP-S790 Blu-ray Player Video Review

care about quality. But once we determine that the video and audio quality are excellent, as they are with this Sony BDP-S790, well, then I want to see what I get for my $230*.

Sony BDP-S790 Blu-ray Player Reviewed

The Sony BDP-S790 Blu-ray player comes packed with features, some of which, many consumers may not need. Adrienne Maxwell reviews the Blu-ray player to see how these features stack up in the real world.

The BDP-S790 is a "smart" Blu-ray player with access to many video- and music-on-demand services, including Netflix, VUDU, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, YouTube, Skype, Pandora, and more. Wired and built-in wireless network connections are available...

The only analog connection is a basic A/V output with stereo audio. There are no multichannel analog audio outputs ; It lacks internal memory to store BD-Live content ; The Web browser is slow and often froze

The Sony BDP-S790 offers good BD/DVD performance and is a full-featured player that supports current and upcoming technology trends, like 4K, 3D, and smart TV. Its price is on par with other new Blu-ray players that offer 4K upscaling. However,...

Fast Processing Lousy Audio

Bought this at Best Buy because I loved the BDP-S780. The audio and picture were great on the 780 and thought I would get an improvement on a good thing by buying the newest model: BDP-S790. Had to reurn it because the sound was unnatural and edgy. The...

better than a PS3?

I never thought that I'd find a Blu-ray 3D player that could match my PS3, but the 790 does--and then some. I've compared it with Oppo and Panasonic players only to find that it not only equals them but surpasses on almost every critical point. i have...
