This modem is horrible!

I did not buy this from NewEgg... I was moving to a new house and was going from cable to DSL. Bought this at Best Buy so that I could get up ASAP. I figured at first that since I was going from cable to DSL it was only in my head that it was this...

It gets so hot it can fry bacon

It gets so hot that signals are degraded horribly. I had to attach another router to it to offset the load. While there was considerable improvement the thing still gets too hot and degrades performance

NETGEAR DGN2200-100NAS Wireless Router with DSL Modem

Good buy if you're not going to be using the LAN ports since they are not Gigabit ports. Used to have to reset our old 2wire router all the time, never have to reset this one.

Easy set up, better signal, easy to interface the router manager

no improvement with signal to the TV's wireless

Verizon dsl

Perfect upgrade from my Westell 7500 Verizon dsl connection. Technical support is among the best, easy setup, and a wireless router/dsl modem makes this a best buy. And do yourself a favor always choose Newegg

stayed with Verizon equipment too long

Runs well so far

Works really well compared to the original Actiontec modem/router from Verizon. Which actually had quite a few problems with the wireless connection. Anyways I logged into the Actiontec and used the 'disconnect' option to release the modem from the...

Quick startup ; Fast wireless connection ; Easily configurable for novice users and has some special perks for the more advanced users

None so far, however I did have a dropped connection while watching Netflix via WiFi to my bluray player. Checked the router and computers and it was working fine. The player reconnected no problem

Works Great

Replaced my old modem which began gave me a lot of issues with connectivity. Moderately priced (at least for me it was). Im not sure why I see so many reviews saying the modem runs hot. Mine runs nice and cool. Seems to have improved my speed from what...

none that I can see

Netgear has a newer model now, the DGN3500. I'm thinking of looking into it to see if they have improved the reliability. If they have, I may get one. We'll see. At any rate, don't buy this turkey!

Easy setup, nice appearance. That's it

This thing runs hot enough to cook breakfast on. After putting up with repeated shutdowns and signal drops, I opened it up and put heat sinks on all the chips. That helped, but only a little bit. Finally, I cut a hole in the top cover and wired in a...

None really

I have had linksys and 2wire routers before. This router is easy to set up, but a pin to configure. Took a couple of hours to get this thing to correctly connect. Then, I notice this router is significantly slower than others I have had before. Go with...

NETGEAR DGN2200-100NAS Wireless Router with DSL Modem

I recomend this router/modem to anyone. Had one computer running, (wired in) two PS3's on the Wi Fi going full blast gameing and this unit worked flawlessly. This unit took the place of my Verizon modem (westel) and my Linksys router. Had a two hour...

Really strong signal anywhere in my house. Not one problem with it, has been very reliable from the start

OK product, poor support

I did not buy this from Newegg. The Netgear gateway it replaced (DGN2000) failed without warning at a bad time so i had to buy locally. The 2200 seems to be running hotter that the 2000 did, so i'm using the vertical support stand and am about to...

Feature menus are good ; Installation CD worked like a champ

This is my third Netgear gateway (out of 8 total that i've used); I did not have to call support for either of the other Netgear units, which I installed manually. Netgear's support center is staffed by individuals who 1) seem to be located in a large...

Netgear DGN2200-100NAS Modem Wireless WiFi Hot Spot Router ADSL Gateway DSL

When I got the device it would not detect DSL at all no matter if I tried CD setup or by going directly to I can tell somebody did not design this unit right because there is not enough grounding built into the PCB board--I was shocked...

DGN2000 sports 300Mbps speeds (with two antennae) in comparison to DGN1000 which is rated at 150Mbps (with one antenna.) ; Modem ADSL Gateway Router WiFi Hotspot in ONE package ; EXCELLENT setup software and EXCELLENT BIOS firmware with lots of options...

Runs hot even without 24/7 load--the Broadcom chipset is hot just like DGN2000 modem/router/wifi I've had (which died after one year) which was overheating too. Both DGN2000 and DGN2200 show low ratings due to high failure rate and overheating...
