Review: Netgear N600 Wireless Dual-Band Gigabit Router

This speedy, reliable dual-band router is great to use, although not so great to configure.

While some of the setup and configuration will leave you scratching your head, in action the WNDR3700 is a thing of beauty. The Wireless Protected Setup (WPS), invoked via a button on the front of the unit, worked great. Both the 5GHz and 2.4GHz ...

Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit ADSL2+ Modem Router review

Netgear's N600 is a plain-looking combination ADSL2+ and cable router, only livened up with a blue stripe surrounding the status lights. It's a no-nonsense exterior that hides an impressive specification - 2.4 and 5GHz bands and comprehensive support...

It's a lot of money to spend on a router, but the N600's specification and performance certainly match its premium price

Didn't hold up, never worked well

This unit is dated and only has a 100m lan port. I would not recommend purchasing this.

Lasted less than 18 months. Had continual problems with wireless connectivity on all PC's. Ultimately woke up one Sunday morning to find wireless was dead but PC's had good wireless signal! PC's could not connect through wireless so ran Cat5 to bypass...

Nothing special. Not reliable. Short range

ReadyShare Feature NOT As Advertised!

Why 2 eggs and not 1? I gave it an extra egg because most features work excellently. However, I have a real problem recommending any product that does not perform completely as advertised. If a feature is broken, it should be removed, and certainly not...

Excellent feature set and capabilities ; Excellent wired and wireless networking ; Excellent ease of setup and configuration

Absolutely horrid NAS (USB hard drive connectivity) feature, known as "readyshare ; Simply stated: This router has trouble detecting USB attached hard drives (via the port on the router itself) ; After many hours of in depth troubleshooting and...

Not a terribly reliable router

Not sure how much of the router performance is the router and how is the ISP

None that I can think of ; Was free with Optimum service

5g connection is very flakey, drops intermittently ; Range is average, had Wi-Fi routers from early 2000 era with same range ; Gets plenty hot over time, adequate spacing required ; Flimsy stand, broke mine within 1 day

Very disappointing

Waste of money.

Easy to set up. Good wireless coverage

Consistently drops connection. Reset with Windows 7 troubleshooting corrects but does not cure the problem. I've been working with Netgear for a month and have implemented all their recommendations to no avail. They claim to have Beta software which...

purchased this 6 months ago for a project and never got around to using it -- opened it today, plugged it in, and nothin'... no lights, doesn't show up on network, ... dead. My bad for buying a refurb and not testing it, but I buy refurb stuff all the...

Bad Deal

Don't get sucked in by the price, this is refirb junk, you will not be happy with this router. My good money spent badly.

Easy setup

Dropping connection every 10 min to an hour, how can you have a router that drops your connection. Replaced with another brand problem solved

NetGear N600 Dual band router

Bought the Netgear Dual band WIFI range extender wall plug worked fine 1 day then the Router stop communicating with my Sat modem. Used old Cisco router and all worked fine rebooted and installed N600 again no signal to modem. Called tech support cut...

Easy Setup. Worked the first time

Has a week signal that barely offers 2-3 bars at short ranges of less than 60 ft. A booster antenna on your computer or a router extender is required to get 4-5 bars

Buy it if you have a brain.

To all the people complaining about this router not reaching across a room or burning holes through the floor : if you followed the kindergarten-level instructions, maybe that wouldn't happen. Just a thought.

High Bandwidth ; 2.4 and 5 GHz channels ; Netgear reliability ; Super Simple to set up (Seriously, the cables have colored shapes on them and the manual has an entire diagram about where to put the shapes. Your grandma could set up this router.) ;...

Slight range problem with the 5 GHz channel but that's to be expected with any router ; Gets a little warm while under load but nothing catastrophic
