TP-Link TL-WR841ND

TP-Link's TL-WR841ND is a no-frills router that offers 802.11n draft 2.0 wireless at a relatively cheap price. Its wireless configuration options aren...

Price point, fairly fast throughput

Bandwidth speeds decrease dramatically at 15-20m, restricted configuration options

If you need a cheap, close range router that’s 802.11n-capable, then TP-Link's TL-WR841ND is a viable option. Although its configuration options are somewhat limited, it's quite speedy.

Fast, but setting it up to work is too complicated

Buy the Buffalo WHR-G300N instead. WHR-G300N is faster and user-friendly to configure.

Fast WiFi router

complicated setup

You get what you pay for

It seems to work fine for basic web browsing and the such, but whenever I need to use LYNC for work, it seems to have issues. Network quality is always reported as "pretty bad" and the sound continually cuts out coming and going. also, lately it...

WDS, Minimum Power Usage

I use this router's WDS (wireless bridge) to wirely hook my media pc so that I could wake it up online, the media PC also has AC-wireless connection to my main router. Many high end router does not have the WDS feature. The WDS could also create...

It is a router that works well for $20. What else do you expect? There are plenty of expensive routers that are worse than this.

Fast speed and reliable for a $20 router ; OpenWrt is supported on v9

BIG improvement over the factory comcast modem/wifi router

working great for our local network to stream movies to the ps3. minimal lagging or skipping after configuration

still some lagging even after wmm and QoS configured. could be the computer and buffer issues

It's Just O.K..... So Far

My biggest overall concern is an intermittent loss of signal which only happened once today leading me to believe it was most likely a problem at my Internet Service Provider. I will continue to monitor the unit closely for the next few weeks. I am at...

1. As good as my ISP provided wireless router which is a Netgear unit ; 2. Is very energy efficient. Has been running continuously for 3 days and is barely even warm. Much more efficient than my ISP furnished Netgear router ; 3. Easy to install ; 4....

1. Some minor intermittent loss of signal today ; 2. No stronger signal to the rest of my home than any other "N" type router. In fact my Roku box shows a WEAKER [one bar less] signal than my ISP furnished Netgear Router ; 3. My Android streaming stick...

Replaced my old WNR1000v3 with this. Old router didn't support MAC blacklisting, which was terrible (whitelist only), so this thing does what I need it to nicely. It's also got better wireless, or so I've been told as I only use it via ethernet.

Cheap, functional, MAC blacklisting is great

None as of yet
