TP-Link TL-WR841ND

TP-Link's TL-WR841ND is a no-frills router that offers 802.11n draft 2.0 wireless at a relatively cheap price. Its wireless configuration options aren...

Price point, fairly fast throughput

Bandwidth speeds decrease dramatically at 15-20m, restricted configuration options

If you need a cheap, close range router that’s 802.11n-capable, then TP-Link's TL-WR841ND is a viable option. Although its configuration options are somewhat limited, it's quite speedy.

Fast, but setting it up to work is too complicated

Buy the Buffalo WHR-G300N instead. WHR-G300N is faster and user-friendly to configure.

Fast WiFi router

complicated setup

Does the job

Easy set up and stays connected to provide reliable service with a satisfactory signal strength

No IPV6 support; none planned

Set-up was easy. Range was great (when it worked). Price affordable

In just over a month, I've had to re-setup the router from scratch 4 times. One minute it's working great (and it does a great job when working), then the wireless is gone and I have to drag the CD-ROM out of the cabinet yet again. Contacted support -...

Works as needed

I was extremely happy to receive this after days of fighting with other network configs. Thanks to newegg for getting it to me by the next day.

Although cheap this router did what my 5 other routers could not. I used this as a wireless bridge to connect my motorola surfboard modem to the rest of the devices on my network. The setup took a total of 5 minutes for this device. At the time of...

Not so much a con, but as others have noted the wireless antennas are fixed unlike many other removable ones. Otherwise i have not had any issues with this device

V9, Could be better

Inexpensive. Good enough range

I do not know what it is about version 9 of this model, but it does not impress me as much as other TP-Link routers. It has minor quirks with network connects that annoy me. The range is mediocre. I enjoy using TP-Link routers, but I prefer other...

got this bad boy when it was 20 bucks on sale, hasn't failed me yet! replaced a cruddy d-link router with this one, and will look to TP-link during my next router purchase!

Easy set up, came quick, was cheap

none so far

Outstanding value

Built if firmware should satisfy anyone from the novice user to someone who needs moderately advanced control of a home network. I dare you to do better for the money. :D

The antennas are fix into place and are not replaceable. It would have been nice to see standard detachable antennas on the unit but that also may add to the cost
