TP-Link TL-WR841ND

TP-Link's TL-WR841ND is a no-frills router that offers 802.11n draft 2.0 wireless at a relatively cheap price. Its wireless configuration options aren...

Price point, fairly fast throughput

Bandwidth speeds decrease dramatically at 15-20m, restricted configuration options

If you need a cheap, close range router that’s 802.11n-capable, then TP-Link's TL-WR841ND is a viable option. Although its configuration options are somewhat limited, it's quite speedy.

fast and cheap

setup abit problem ,but instruction explained

Consumer review by:

Fast, but setting it up to work is too complicated

Buy the Buffalo WHR-G300N instead. WHR-G300N is faster and user-friendly to configure.

Fast WiFi router

complicated setup

Great for OpenWRT

This would be perfect for extending Wireless into the backyard, or to set up a neighborhood mesh network, and at $20 a pop, it's almost nothing for what you're getting with this router + OpenWRT

Bought 2 routers to setup a WDS system. Mine were v9.1. Easy upgrade to OpenWRT. Now I have great WiFi, and a wired connection to the network from the remote router

Works well with my other TP-Link router and switch. My is hardware version 8.4 and bought it to work with my hardware version 7.2 router. Also using TP-Link 8 port switch. I was have down-time problems with my LinkSys WRT54G router but everything is...

Very nice

you just can't beat the price, it is a good build, not cheaply made and it works fantastic... have them running now for about 4~5 months flawlessly! Thanks Newegg... you find all the good stuff!!

I bought 2 of these and I'll tell ya.... talk about easy to set up and it has like 3 times the range my Belkin router did. I can be all the way down the street and around the corner with my tablet and am still watching Netflix with no worries. When I...

I have found nothing to complain about with this router... and I looked for some

Nice little unit

This is a cheap unit. It came bundled with a cable modem. I had a client that needed a new modem and router. This bundle worked perfect. It offered all of the features they needed and they get great signal. They live in a 2000 sq/ft ranch style house....

Works great

None really

tl-wr841n Sucks

My last router was an Netgear WNR 2000 and was plug and play, idiot proof connectivity. I work in a data networking environment and this router is more hassle than anything I deal with on the job. AVOID THIS UNIT.

Cheap. Newegg shipping is always awesome

Sometimes it won't work on one PC but does on others ; I can ping Google but can't get a browser to go there ; I have 3 machines, (2 PCs and a PS3) that connect great all the time. I have 3 other PCs that have constant issues getting or staying...

Excellent Inexpensive Router

For the price, I think it's pretty hard to beat. I haven't had any issues with signal strength or random disconnects, and have used these in a number of different environments.

Current shipping hardware version is 9.1. This is supported by DD-WRT build 25203 which is very easy to flash and seems to work well. I have a number of these routers in various configurations, but none are running on the original TP-Link firmware

This is the version with the fixed antennas, so if you break one, you're pretty much out of luck. For a few bucks more, you can get the WR841ND which has the standard detachable antennas

TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router, 300Mbps, IP QoS, WPS Button

If it was not for this serious problem I would have given it a 5.

Fast shipping from Newegg; easy setup - no more than 5 minutes

While the WR841N detected the internet and quickly provided a connection, IT WOULD NOT STAY CONNECTED. I am running Windows 7 64 bit, the exclamation would show up within 1 - 2 hours, sometimes less. I had to reset (power on and off) this router in...
