Netgear Rangemax WNDR3700

It wasn't much of a contest: Netgear's WNDR3700 V1 retained its crown as our Best of the Best router with spectacular TCP through-put, a strong feature set, and an even stronger price/performance ratio. It's the second-most expensive router we tested,...

Awesome price/performance ratio; DLNA-compliant media server; dual guest networks; traffic meter

No USB printer sharing; traffic meter can't limit on a per-client basis

We suspect the primary reason the WNDR3700’s press-time street price was so low is because Netgear was clearing inventory to make way for the WNDR3700 V2. Netgear is promising to double the router’s memory, deliver a 50 percent performance boost on the...

Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (WNDR3700)

One of the fastest wireless router we've tested to date, Netgear's N600 is fit for technically inclined consumers or small business. This excellent router's feature set is suited to both power home users and the most technical IT person

Amazing throughput. Improved setup with Genie app. Loaded with features

Setup process a bit slow. Setup still requires some tech savvy. Slow file copying via USB connection

Netgear's WNDR3700 offers snappy dual-band operation wrapped in a sleek living-room friendly design.

True dual band (2.4- and 5GHz); fast throughput; great feature set; attractive

Pricey; can't share a printer over the network

Netgear WNDR3700 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router (Premium Edition)

The new Netgear WNDR3700 RangeMax is a great upgrade from the Netgear WNDR3300 . It now supports true dual bands, offering simultaneous Wireless-N performance in both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands. The router also offers a decent network storage feature when...

The Netgear WNDR3700 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router supports true dual band, offers decent wireless performance, and has a useful set of networking features, including novelties such as a guest zone, network storage, and a traffic meter....

The Netgear WNDR3700 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router's network storage performance is very slow and its 5Ghz performance is disappointing as well. Its Traffic Meter feature isn't as robust as we'd like.

The Netgear WNDR3700 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router is a great dual-band router for networking enthusiasts who also want a quick and easy network storage solution.

Advanced wireless router for Windows

The Netgear WNDR3700 is a simultaneous dual-band, Wireless-N router (so you can use the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands at the same time) that most reviewers find easy to set up. It's packed with features, including four Gigabit LAN ports (for...

Easy to set up, fast at short range, simultaneous dual-band, gigabit Ethernet ports, network-attached storage function, traffic meter

Some owners report problems after weeks of use, mixed reviews at long range (5 GHz), slow network storage, no USB printer sharing, traffic meter can't limit specific clients' use

Netgear RangeMax WNDR3700 Wireless-N Dual Band Router Review

If you're looking for a router that can handle your networking needs today and in the future, look no further than the Netgear WNDR3700 router. It has fast dual band 802.11n capabilities that allow you to have two simultaneous networks and a variety of...

Fast throughput on both bands ; Dual-band functionality ; Guest network feature adds extra layer of security and privacy for peeping guests ; Many different options in administration interface

Lack-luster feature set for file sharing ; No printer sharing capabilities ; Black glossy enclosure can collect fingerprints fast

There are other known issues with the router that are covered on the forums, so even if the guest network isn't a selling point for you, I'd still suggest reading up a bit before pulling out your wallet.

Review: Netgear RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router WNDR3700

The pricey WNDR3700 from Netgear will not only pump out both 2.4 and 5 GHz 802.11n signals simultaneously, it offers a number of other worthwhile features as well, including guest networks, storage support, and a handy broadband traffic meter.

supports simultaneous 2.4/5 GHz 802.11n networks

USB port doesn’t support shared printer or Windows Connect Now; no secure access to remote storage; a bit pricey

NETGEAR WNDR3700

The NETGEAR WNDR3700 is a worthy competitor.

The product includes simultaneous dual band support for IEEE 802.11n

There is no BitTorrent client and no support for RADIUS

This is one of the premium wireless routers that is easy to setup and manage. The NETGEAR WNDR3700 Range Max Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router does not make as much use of USB 2.0 ports as the Belkin Play Max Wireless Router or the D-Link Xtreme N...

router drops connection

I hate this router. It continuously drops the internet connection. I have to re-install every time it drops. Once warranty runs out it costs $60 bucks to get advice. It is also slow.

Worked great the first 5 months

I bought it 6 months ago to replace a 5 year old Linksys G-router. The Linksys was working fine, but I just wanted to upgrade. I bought the Netgear over the Linksys because it was on sale and about 40 bucks cheaper. A month ago, the router started...

When it was brand new it worked ; Good range for 2000 sf house

drops internet connection every 15 minutes
