Canon ZR90

Intuitive ; wide-angle lens attachment ; 22X optical zoom

Colors muted ; some buttons are too accessible

Neat features abound in the Canon ZR90, but video quality is just okay.

Canon MV750i

Dieser erschwingliche Mini-DV-Camcorder bietet eine gute Auswahl an Heimvideo-Funktionen sowie eine bequeme, problemlose Handhabung. Die Videoqualität ist allerdings nur durchschnittlich.

angenehme Ergonomie, praktische Bedienelemente, großer Zoombereich, effektiver Bildstabilisator, integrierter Weitwinkelobjektiv-Konverter, Videoleuchte

The ZR90 camcorder enjoys some extra features that its cheaper ZR80 sibling lacks, but the menus are awkward to use.

The ZR90 boasts some useful features, but the controls are awkward and take some time to learn.

Canon MV750i review

This affordable MiniDV camera offers a good range of home-video-oriented features, as well as comfortable, smooth operation, but its video quality doesn't rise above average

Comfortable ergonomics ; Convenient controls ; Large zoom range ; Effective image stabilisation ; Included wide-angle lens converter and built-in video light

Visible noise and artefacts in video ; Poor low-light video quality ; Limited exposure controls ; No backlight mode ; Bottom-loading cassette hatch

The one area in which the Canon MV750i falls down even for an affordably priced model is in controlling the electronic noise. Even in highlight areas of well-lit shots, we could see noise creeping in. As you can guess, this becomes a real problem in...

Canon MV750i DV Camcorder Review

Good ergonomics and stylish design. DIGIC processing produces characteristically warm Canon skin tones. Inclusion of 0.6x wide lens and 22x optical zoom is a bonus. Low cost is a major plus.

Access to manual focus and exposure too much of a fiddle. High tape transport noise. A clearer B&W viewfinder would have been preferable to the low-res colour one. 440x digizoom useless.

It's a very comfortable, easy-to-use, camcorder that will be highly popular with the beginner's market. It's still way too noisy in quiet areas, but for the newbie looking for a great little starter model this won't be seen as a problem. At the price,...

Canon ZR90

Its a great little camera, very lightweight and fun. Took it to Europe with us. Perfect if you don't need it to be perfect. Shooting in low light or at night yeilds disappointing results. Also, the digital stills are pretty grainy. Haven't figured out...

size, easy to use

poor low light images, background noise, poor digital stills

Product Specifications

Built on Canon's heritage of precision optics, the MV750i is not only effortless to operate, it also has one of the highest zoom ranges of any camcorder in its class. Canon's engineers have always abided by the rule that technology has no purpose unless it can be put to good use. That is why the MV750i camcorder works straight out of the box. You won't need a PhD in systems theory to get started - just turn it on and start shooting. The compact size and slim, ergonomic palm design feels as easy in the hand as it is to use. Buttons controlling all important features fall right beneath your fingertips, and you will be delighted by the wide proportions of the color LCD. Menu navigation is intuitive, uncomplicated and available in 8 languages. Sitting just beneath the surface and awaiting the more adventurous is a generously specified camcorder with a raft of advanced features. These start with a remarkably high ratio 22x optical / 440x combined zoom so you will never be far from the action. Shooting in low light conditions is no problem thanks to 'Night Mode'. 'Super Night Mode' uses a powerful LED light source so you can even capture footage in complete darkness. A new Night+ mode allows you to turn the LED on and off whilst shooting. The MV750i camcorder includes Image Stabilization to keep the action steady without a tripod and a 1/6" high resolution CCD sensor for sharp images. The camera features DIGIC DV, a dedicated DV processor that raises the bar on image quality, recreating 'emotional' colors, tones and details to deliver images we humans love and remember: Redder apples, greener grass, bluer skies and warmer and more realistic skin tones. Capture digital still images with 'Progressive Photo System' technology. The MV750i gives you the ability to capture stills whilst shooting video footage, and can even store these direct to either MMC or SD memory cards. A mechanical shutter provides true digital still camera functionality, eliminating the blur that plagues conventional camcorders. The vendor independent PictBridge standard is supported, allowing for PC-less direct printing to any PictBridge compatible printer. Motion-JPEG files record direct to either MMC or SD memory cards for easy Internet sharing. Up to 60 minutes of either QVGA or QQVGA formats can be recorded straight to card or copied to card from DV tape. An Analog-In and A/D converter are included.
