Canon MVX30i review

A very good pocket camcorder that, in a pinch, can double as a decent snapshot camera. With a higher-resolution LCD and a video light, the MVX35i is a better bet, though

Extremely compact ; Excellent image quality ; Performs well in low-light conditions

Short battery life ; Poor microphone placement ; Grainy still photos

Still-image performance is a mixed bag. Images are generally sharper and more detailed than you typically get using a camcorder's photo functions, yet they still don't hold up to direct comparison with typical images from digital still cameras....

Canon MVX35i and MVX30i DV Camcorder Reviews

General styling and handling, audio level meter in vision, DIGIC DV colour processing, full DV and AV connectivity and USB 2.0 transfer

Non-adjustable fixed Viewfinder, position of microphone on top of viewfinder, Flash is Auto-only, tape bottom-loading

Excellent image quality, great handling and a host of good features make this a great all-rounder for upgraders and new camcorder users alike.
