Contour+2

This excellent wearable action camera records high-quality video, sports a rotating lens and lets you use your smartphone as a viewfinder.

Lens rotates; iOS app connects via Bluetooth; Connects with Mod Live goggles

Short battery life; Low photo resolution

Click to EnlargeOf the wearable cameras we've tested, the Contour+2 is the most well-rounded. While it doesn't have the best battery life or video quality, the Contour+2 is more than good enough in both respects. Moreover, it has a versatile and sleek...

Contour+2

Contour's line-topping Contour+ HD sports camera would have been one of our favorites, but we hesitated to recommend it because Contour's own less-expensive cameras, the ContourGPS and the ContourRoam , were cheaper, more rugged, and easier to use.

The Contour+2 captures crisp, HD video. The new Instant On-Record slider greatly increases simplicity. Bluetooth allows app connectivity, GPS allows location data to be embedded in video, and the waterproof case is now included.

Even with the new lower price, the Contour+2 is more expensive than the GoPro HD Hero2.

The Contour+2 combines the best features of the entire Contour camera line in one simple, powerful flagship model.

Great, discreet design ; Rotatable lens ; Wireless connectivity ; Quick, accurate GPS

Middling audio quality ; Still pricey

Contour's latest POV camera is the one we'd choose for helmet-required action sports.

"Simply the best helmet camera available."

After owning and testing several different helmet cameras (Contour, GoPro, Drift) this one will definitely be my bread-and-butter. The 1080 and 720 image is incredibly clear and sharp even at 60FPS, sound is much improved with less wind-noise (there...

1) Design design design: Record switch, rotating lens, laser alignment, and sleek metal body, all feel super intuitive and well thought out.

No 120FPS at 720p or 60FPS at 1080

Contour+2

The Contour+2 is ideal for action adventurers who want a helmet camera with a simple recording control. For other applications, the Contour+2 presents a frustrating user experience, which is disappointing, given its premium price.

Simple to start recording and lock into place ; Able to stream over HDMI ; Rotating lens element ; GPS tracking

MicroSD card can come out of place in rough-and-tumble situations ; No screen, so beeps and lights are difficult to interpret ; Australian RRP is very expensive

At AU$549, it is hard to justify the cost of the Contour+2 over its nearest competitors, the GoPro and the Sony.

Decent camera but software lets it down

People expect different things from a helmet cam, so my review is judging this camera based on my specific expectation rather than a general review. Of course, primarily, I wanted good quality video footage and I think this camera takes decent video at...
