Cisco Flip SlideHD Review

Flip's SlideHD reminds us of Rocky Balboa. Unfortunately, not the Rocky Balboa of the original Rocky or even Rocky II. Instead, we're thinking of Rocky III, where The Champ comes in out of shape and loses to, of all people, Mr. T.

Thick around the waist; expensive; no charger or HDMI cable; clunky interface

Cisco Flip SlideHD Review - A Review of the Cisco Flip SlideHD

gt ; Brightly lit video quality, Long battery life

gt ; Bulky and heavy, Expensive, Finicky resistive touchscreen, Low-resolution display, Video Resolution: 1280 x 720 (30 fps), Still Image Resolution: N/A, Display: 3 inches (400 x 240), Optical Zoom: N/A, Digital Zoom: 2X, Battery Type: Rechargeable...

There's a reason Flip dominates the pocket camcorder market, and it's not just that it pioneered the category. Flip camcorders are designed to be inexpensive and usable right out of the box: the now-signature design is foolproof, and there's always...

Flip Video SlideHD

For better or worse, touchscreens are finding their way into nearly every type of electronic product: phones, netbooks, cameras, tablets...and now, pocket camcorders.

3-inch widescreen display is great for playback ; Very good video quality in most conditions ; 16GB of internal storage

Expensive for a pocket camcorder ; No still-photo mode ; Touchscreen and touch strip can be unresponsive

The Flip SlideHD is great for video playback, but its touchscreen is extremely frustrating to use when you're shooting video.

Fetish: Flip SlideHD Packs Touchscreen, Awesome Moves

You want to share your clip of lil' Joey riding without training wheels now, not later. Well, Flip's SlideHD, with a beefed-up, 3-inch screen, a cool virtual instrument panel, and 16 gigs of memory, will have you showing off your offspring in no time.

Cisco Flip SlideHD Review

We found plenty of things not to like about the second-generation Flip MinoHD, but its sleek, compact design was not one of them. With the new SlideHD, Flip throws out this most likeable asset, preserves the ho-hum feature set, and backpedals on...

Large 3-inch screen for viewing ; Captures sharp 720p video ; Generous 16GB internal memory ; HDMI and headphone outputs ; Intuitive FlipShare software

Bulkier and heavier than comparable cams ; Touch controls complicate shooting ; Sloppy, unintuitive playback controls ; Too expensive for pocket camcorder ; No included HDMI cable ; No still mode, SD card slot, or electronic image stabilization ;...

Cisco has boosted both the price and size of an already middling camcorder with this bloated attempt at a pocket cinema.

Cisco Flip SlideHD

Until now, Flip and its pocket camcorder competitors have concentrated solely on easy video recording and sharing. With the Flip SlideHD ($279.99 list), the focus shifts to the video-viewing experience. With its tilting 3-inch LCD and loud, clear...

Sliding, tilting 3-inch LCD. Easy-to-use, touch-screen interface. 16GB of embedded storage. Loud speakers. HDMI out. Bundled FlipShare software simplifies video management and sharing

Expensive. No still-image capture. No 1080p recording. No microphone input. Only a portion of the LCD is usable while recording video

The Cisco Flip SlideHD features an easy-to-use, touch-screen interface and a nifty tilting display for video watching, but if you're looking for recording versatility, you won't find it in this pricey pocket camcorder.

Flip SlideHD Review

The latest offering from Flip, the SlideHD, has all the curb appeal of a slick, portable media player.

Fun playback design ; Great FlipShare software ; Easy to operate

Limited features and extras ; Overpriced ; Lacks updated video quality

The SlideHD simply does not offer enough to recommend when compared to older and less expensive Flips, as well as competing pocket camcorders that shoot at higher resolutions, have more features, and come packaged with extra cables and goodies.

Flip Video Slide HD – Review

I like Flip's products a great deal. I bought the original Flip and loved it. I loved the on-board software that let you edit and share videos as soon as you plugged it into a computer. And because the software was on the device it didn't matter what...

Flip SlideHD – Expensive, not worth the money

Flip SlideHD costs '79.99 and it is quite expensive as compared to the competition. The high price can be attributed to the big three inch touch screen LCD and big 16 GB of internal storage space. Apart from the touch screen, the screen of the...

Recording controls are still simple, big three inch LCD, 16 GB of internal storage, excellent integrated software

No options for expanding the memory, lacks HDMI cable, touch screen controls are finicky, expensive

We won’t recommend this just because the price is high and the features don't justify it. Remember, you pay extra just for the touch screen and nothing else.

Not as pocket-friendly as other Flips

The Flip SlideHD brings new video-watching and recording features that are a step above other handheld video cameras such as Creative Technology's Vado and Kodak's Zi line. Hopefully, like other Flips, this device will shrink over time to fit into the...
