Flip Video MinoHD second generation review: Flip Video MinoHD second generation

Flip Video MinoHD second generation

Solid 720p video, particularly for its size; slightly slicker ultraslim yet functional design; large 2-inch LCD; easy to use; integrated lithium ion rechargeable battery; HDMI output; FlipShare software compatible with both Macs and Windows machines.

Fairly pricey; no SD/MMC card expansion slot; no cable included for HD output to HDTVs.

Still one of the nicest models available, the second-generation Flip MinoHD offers a slightly improved design, double the memory, and an HDMI output for the same price that the original MinoHD used to cost.

Pure Digital Flip Mino HD

Pure Digital may have pioneered the concept of the YouTube camcorder with the original Flip, back in 2006, but it was Kodak that truly raised the bar in this space earlier this year, with its release of the Zi6. The long-standing still-camera...

Records high-quality HD video. Compact. Double the storage of the original Flip Mino

Small screen. Memory isn't expandable

Pure Digital takes the next logical step, adding high-definition recording to its Flip Mino mini camcorder. While there are few physical changes, you do get more built-in storageand you'll pay a lot more.

Flip Video MinoHD review: Flip Video MinoHD

Flip Video MinoHD

Solid 720p video, particularly for a camcorder this size; ultraslim yet functional design; easy to use; one-touch video uploading to YouTube, AOL, and MySpace; integrated lithium ion rechargeable battery; FlipShare software is compatible with both Macs...

Somewhat pricey; no SD/MMC card expansion slot; rechargeable battery isn't removable or replaceable; can't output HD to HDTVs.

While it has its flaws and is a bit expensive, the ultrasimple Flip Video MinoHD produces impressive video for a camcorder of its size.

Flip MinoHD

Super portable and spontaneous HD video in your pocket

Needs stabilization and HDMI port

We’re big fans of Flip Video’s incredibly easy-to-use pocket-size video cameras, but it’s been difficult to wholeheartedly recommend them given the superior video capabilities of today’s point-and-shoot digicams.

High Definition Camcorder Review: Pure Digital Flip MinoHD

Similar in size and weight to a cell phone, the Pure Digital MinoHD camcorder records HD video at the incredible list price of $230. The MinoHD is Pure Digital's first 720p HD camcorder-all of their previous models have been standard-def. The MinoHD...

Small, handy size ; High quality video output ; Very simple and easy to use

No mic or earphone jack ; Too-simple editing software ; Tough to shoot steady video consistently ; Poor automatic white balance ; No HD playback directly from camcorder

Overall, the MinoHD is an impressive offering for the very few bucks it may cost the consumer.

Flip MinoHD Digital Camcorder

Digital video is everywhere, it has become as popular as digital photos. If you are looking to get a video camera it can be very expensive, especially if you are looking to shoot in HD. That is where Pure Digital has come along with the Flip, an...

Compact, - Records in HD!, - Rechargeable battery, - Ease of use, - Price

NONE!

The Flip MinoHD is the perfect thing for anyone looking to do anything with digital video. It is small and compact, which will make it easy for you to take with you anywhere. Just because it is small does not mean that it lacks quality. You are able to...

Review: Flip Video MinoHD

We previously reviewed both the Flip Video Mino and Ultra and since that time the Mino has been part of my travel gear anytime I leave the house where I think a moment of video may be needed. Since it weighs practically nothing and you can record 60...

Review: Flip Mino HD

The bestselling pocket camera goes HD with improved software.

HD a boon for HDTV enthusiasts or simply future proofing ; Simple but excellent FlipShare software loaded on the camera ; Very straightforward on-camera control ; Good low-light sensitivity; detail kept in most individual video frames ; 4GB of memory...

No removable storage or battery ; Images occasionally subject to purple fringing or poor light level transitions ; Battery life is just 'good enough.'- Software lacks clip trimming or other editing besides clip selections and music ; Needs optical zoom...

Conventional wisdom would have had Pure Digital's Flip camcorders wash out because of their limited features, but it's precisely this which has led them to seemingly overthrow the budget camcorder market. Their dead-simple controls and narrow focus

Flip Video Mino HD

Pocketable camcorders continue to be all the rage, the Flip Mino HD being the latest instalment.

In fact, after initially setting time and date, there is almost nothing else to control on the Mino HD other than starting and stopping recording. There are plus and minus buttons to operate the 2x digital zoom, but annoyingly these only become active...
