Most cost effective camcorder

Was considering one of the ~$300 Canon options for the longest time, but couldn't justify the cost. We really just wanted this as a supplement to our point-and-shoot camera (which takes 720p video). Worked out better than expected.

Relatively inexpensive. Wealth of features, including touchscreen. Auto-on/off when opened/closed ; Dual SD card compartments. Dual battery compartment ; I'm not savvy enough to know why, but it does seem to record full HD. When I transfer the image to...

The dual battery compartment is an either-or scenario. So, you will have to stop and spend a minute or so swapping it out ; Not very good with low light, but to be expected for this price range

Bad Camera

Good camera for a 10 year old on a budget.

Dual battery options

Battery door was not functioning properly, touch screen barely functions, play controls when connected to a tv dont funtion properly

Battery

The touch screen seems to short every time I touch it. I can use the screen but it flashes different colors right after i touch it each time.

nice size

No optical zoom.when I use regular batteries the camera says they are dead after 5 minutes. Does anyone know what the problem is??????????? If I can get this thing to work it will be great i think

OK for the $

Use "class 10" SD cards with this. I used Patriot. If you are really fussy about picture quality, spend more than the $100 this one costs.

Small with good viewscreen ; Easy to use ; Decent picture quality on my 50" tv ; Decent battery life

Guide book uninformative in 3 languages., look in the CD ; AA battery backup is a farce, killed fresh batteries in no time

Great HD camcorder for money

Again, for the money. You just cant beat this camcorder.

Records images beautifully. No motion blur. Has expandability of 2 SD HC flash cards. I have 2 8 Gb SD HC flash cards in mine for recording times of almost 6 hours ; Sound is very good for such a small unit with no mic boom ; Controls are a easily...

not really cons, but something for HP to work on ; Macro focus feature is difficult to reach while recording ; Recording gets a little grainy in low light situations ; Camera isn't the greatest

No good

Small

Horrible video and zoom capabilities. You get what you pay for. My small point and shoot takes better HD video than this unit. This thing is back in the box and going back to Newegg. Don't waste your money like I did. Wow can't wait to pay that...

It arrived today! It's going back tomorrow!

This camera is not even worth the price. There's plenty of other cameras on the market @ this price range more worthy. Not even good as a first camera. Stay away! Purchase @ your own risk. *Notice all the pros have nothing to do with photo or video!

I was excited before I received it! HDMI to TV on board. Audio Quality is Great! 3" Touch Screen

Picture Quality on all settings for photo and video terrible! No control settings of focus and not enough zoom or aperture. I even purchased Transcend 16GB Secure Digital High-Capacity 10 class. I played with it all day from computer monitor to HDTV. I...

Details are wrong!

It's fun. I'm using a Transcend 16GB SDHC code 10 for storage that I bought from NewEgg. This holds 8.5 hours of 720p 16x9 video or about 10,000 5 megapixel photos. It's small and high res - so holding it still is a challenge. If you are going to...

Documentation states cam only does 1080p at 4x3 aspect (1440x1080) but it really does 1080p at 16x9 aspect (1920x1080). Makes .MOV files that Quicktime Movie Inspector reports as format H264, 1920x1080, stereo 48.000 kHz, 29.97 FPS, 6.45 mbits/sec....

Silly software bug documented in the Pros above ; User manual at about 100 pages still leaves some features undocumented. It's a complex box that does a lot of stuff

I like it alot

I love to own a toy that has many features then I could show off to my friends. This HP camcorder is my choice because it come with dual SD card slot, 3" touch screen, dual power source which meant you can use AA battery or rechargeable Li-on battery....

Too small ; Required fast SD cards to get proper pictures, slow ones left blurry videos. (I found this out by accident. They should mention it in the manual
