JVC Everio GZ-MG77U

CCDType: Single CCD, Video Recording Format: Hard Drive

Drop detection worked well. Good video quality.

No viewfinder. Autofocus could be better. Mediocre night mode. Expensive.

Although not the best in its class and a bit overpriced, the JVC Everio GZ-MG77U is a good hard drive camcorder.

JVC Everio GZ-MG77

The GZ-MG77 sports relatively few buttons. The camcorder's exterior has just three switches: a power/mode control, the record button, and the zoom rocker. Beneath the LCD are four more buttons and the still/video switch. Most adjustments are made using...

Supersmall and light; stores as much as 37 hours of video; easy and fast video transfer to your computer.

Subpar video quality; aspect-ratio issues with third-party programs when shooting wide-screen; no video light; no provisions for external microphone or accessories.

The small size and massive video storage capacity of the JVC Everio GZ-MG77 make it a tantalizing choice, but poor video quality keeps this hard-disk-based camera from being a tape- or DVD-killer.

JVC GZ-MG77 Camcorder Review

The GZ-MG77 (MSRP ($900) was JVC's top model in their Everio line of hard disk drive camcorders until the GZ-MG505 was finally released, after much delay, a few weeks ago. Since last year's GZ-MG70, the major changes have occurred in the imager (which...

JVC GZ-MG77

The JVC Everio GZ-MG77 features a 1/3.9" CCD (2.18 gross MP), which is considerably larger than the 1/6" 680K CCD in the GZ-MG37. This upgrade should increase all around performance: from bright light video to low light video to still performance. Even...

Great camera, small, light, and takes good video.

I have this camera and really like it. It is so lightweight and easy to use. The video quality, in my opinion, is good. I have taken movies on some vacations and burned them to DVD and they came out great. The software that comes with the camera is not...

Small, lightweight, nice menu system. 2MP camera comes in handy

Included editing software not that easy to use, wish it had more zoom

This camera is getting a bad rap....It's a good camera

I bought the big battery so recording time isn't a issue. The 10x opitical is plenty. I shoot kids sporting events in wide screen on the highest resolution and they are great on my big tv. The DIVX player will display the raw video and Pinacle Studio...

Storage space, wide screen, doesn't need a viewfinder

The small battery doesn't last long enough
