JVC Everio GZ-MG20 review: JVC Everio GZ-MG20

Stores tons of video; excellent zoom reach; very small.

Terrible battery life; mediocre video quality; grainy low-light footage; requires a computer or stand-alone DVD burner.

Though the short battery life and mediocre image quality are frustrating, the JVC Everio GZ-MG20U's amazing recording capacity and tiny size still make it an enticing device.

Though the short battery life and mediocre image quality are frustrating, the JVC Everio GZ-MG20's amazing recording capacity and tiny size still make it an enticing device.

Stores tons of video ; Excellent zoom reach ; Very small

Terrible battery life ; Mediocre video quality ; Grainy low-light footage ; Requires a computer or stand-alone DVD burner

Still-image quality is terrible. The VGA-resolution images lack detail and are grainy no matter what the lighting conditions.

The best Day-After-Thanksgiving purchase I've made

I bought this in 2006, so I've had it for a while. I love this camcorder. It takes decent video - we watch it on a 46 inch screen and it seems to be fine. I mean, obviously we're not talking newscast quality here, but it can take a pretty good picture.

Good video, easy to use, easy to transfer video, nice software included

Short battery life, trouble focusing in dim light

GZ-M155U

Video during daylight conditions was average. Pretty decent low-light capability as long as you don't start panning around. Set on a tripod and let it record instead. Built-in microphone sub-par (needs a mic jack). Auto-focus fair (has difficulty...

Long recording time, lightweight one-handed operation, ease of use
