JVC GZ-MG70U Review

Hard disk drives are taking over the world! At one time, HDDs were safely ensconced in PCs and laptops. Then they moved to outboard drives, satellite and cable boxes, combination DVD/HDD recorders, iPod digital audio players…the list goes on. Now the...

Ultra-small; hard disk camcorder with massive storage

So-so video performance; OK 2MP stills

JVC did not hit a home run with the GZ-MG70U, more like a double.

JVC GZ-MG70 Camcorder Review

The GZ-MG70 sells for around $800, an expensive first step for most consumers. This is JVC's top of the line in the G-Series, which use non-removable hard drives for storage. JVC believes their Everio G-Series represents the future of camcorders. They...

Camcorder Review: JVC Everio GZ-MG70 Hard Disk Camcorder

Remember the days when the term "hard disk drive" was simply associated with personal computers? As the list of solid-state memory camcorders that have gigabyte capacity continues to grow, the JVC Everio GZ-MG70 is definitely a notable player in the...

In the end, casual shooters will find the JVC Everio GZ-MG70 hard disk camcorder to be a great non-tape based solution. The mere fact that you can record a little over 7 hours of footage at the highest quality makes this incredibly convenient for...

This is a good little camera. If you watched the video review, I agree with both the mushy control pad for the menus and the zoom control. The video quality is fine.

Light weight easy to handle, video quality good

No Firewire, Recording format is muxed

JVC Everio GZ-MG70U

I looked around for a camera that wouldn't chew up a bunch of money in operating costs over the life of the camera. This is the one! Mini DVD cameras are good for 30 min per disc at high quality before you need another blank. Also the discs need to be...

No Media, Easy to Use, Good Video Quality

Battery Life, Rubber jack covers, A little pricey for what it is

JVC Everio GZ-MG70U

I gave this a seven since all you have to do is plug in via usb and transfer your *MOD files, change the your file extensions to MPG and there you have quality mpeg2. I didn't even had to load the supplied software. Good job JVC. Huge file transfer...

Fast file transfer, Streams USB, Good menu package

Poor IS correction, small LCD, Awkward Zoom/Wide

Cant seem to find the nightmode function or there isnt any.

I really like the size of this.

I can't seem to make the night mode feature work properly. In manual mode you select night mode, but the video images are very slow and lag. Once you take it off….its back to normal. Any ideas???
