Short battery life ; Menu navigation sometimes quirky ; Zoom control speed jumpy

There are some slight blemishes, but the image quality and features of this highly compact camcorder more than make up for them.

A big sensor upgrade in the VX815 does little to fix the VX700's biggest failings.

While it suffers from cheap construction and a needlessly complicated interface crippled by a poor-quality touchscreen, the JVC GZ-VX815 actually produces pretty good video. It's just a shame that you can't really see it at its best without playing it...

A small camcorder with big camcorder quality

Excellent image quality ; Extensive WiFi features ; Stylish, compact chassis

Manual lens cover closing ; Almost no discrete control buttons ; Manual settings in full menu only
