Great Camcorder, bad night vision

 

I've had this camcorder for a two years now. Gotta say that it works very well. It has good focus even when you're at max zoom, but when you're zoomed in that much, you need to put the camcorder on a tripod, otherwise the recording will be very shaky.

I examined most of the other competitors (Sony, Panasonic, Canon, Sharp) in this price range (under $600) and I found this to be the best deal.

Lightweight, 3.5 Display, Excellent Resolution, USB/Firewire Connectivity, 700x Digital Zoom, Good Audio, Built-In Light

This was my first Digital Camcorder purchase. I previously owned a 1984 Hitachi shoulder mount S-VHS video camera and decided that it was too old and too heavy.

Create with this JVC GR-DVL720 digital Cybercam camcorder. In this supreme device the slim and nifty design is combined with the high functionality. Auto White Balance adjusts for different indoor light sources so that colors appear natural. Manual White Balance is useful when shooting under various types of lighting. Digital Image Stabilizer helps eliminate camera shake. Snapshot mode freezes an image, frames it with a white border (like a still photograph) or a drop-shadow, and even adds an accompanying camera shutter sound effect. Iris Lock function allows the iris to be locked so that after focusing on a close subject, even when the subject moves away, the image will not darken. Use it when shooting a moving subject, when zooming, when the subject changes its distance (thus its size in the LCD monitor or the viewfinder), or when you want to lock the brightness level.
