Panasonic AG-DVX100 3CCD 24p Mini DV Camcorder Review

No camera in recent memory has generated as much buzz as the Panasonic AG-DVX100. This is the first consumer-priced camera to offer 24 frame per second progressively scanned video (24p), which (theoretically) makes video look like it was shot on film....

Exceptional picture quality ; Six customizable modes ; Excellent progressive video ; Flexible image tweaking

No auto focus in progressive modes

A revolutionary professional camera that allows shooters to switch between cinema-like images or standard video modes.

Working with the Panasonic AG-DVX100, Final Cut Pro and Cinema Tools

With the release of the Panasonic AG-DVX100, independent filmmakers have a DV camera that can acquire footage at 24 frames per second, the same as a film camera. This ability allows film prints of AG-DVX100 footage to match frame for frame and preserve...

Once all the clips have been processed, create a new 23.98 project in Final Cut Pro and import the clips. Edit as usual.

Panasonic DVX100 Camcorder

ay back in 1995, Panasonic introduced an amazing camcorder, the miniDV-format, three-chip EZ-1. I tested it late that year and was very impressed by its image quality. I'd never seen such great-looking pictures from a camera so small. Of course, a lot...

"Normal" video in the U.S. has, until recently, meant 525 interlaced lines scanned at the rate of 30 frames a second, each frame being made up of two fields, therefore, 60 fields per second. A number of those scanning lines are used for "blanking" the...

Panasonic AGDVX100 / Sony PD-150 Comparison Shoot

The arrival of the Panasonic AG-DVX100 camera heralds an exciting new chapter in the indie production world. To many eyes, the 24-frame progressive format represents video technology's closest approximation of the aesthetic qualities of motion picture...

get this

this thing looks really, g0d-awfully ugly, but, if you want to make films - like real films that look like you shot them on super 16 or low quality 35mm - buy this. So many indie films have been made with this thing, it's insane. Overall, it's just a...

Everthing... especially the true 24p

16:9 stretch - it works good when you drop it into a NLE track but it looks a little funny when you're filming; plus you get a little bit of resolution drop compared to a camera with 16:9 CCDs... that's about it

Panasonic DMR-BS850

Allows you to record HD broadcasts in full and that can then be transferred to Blu Ray (Copyright Permitting). Freesat is getting BBC iPlayer HD. Firmware upgrades are automatic through a LAN connection.

HD Freesat Twin tuner, 1080p Upscaler, compatible with other leading brand HDTV's. Records on every type of dvd / blu ray. Records in DR mode and can fit around 150 titles with no problems

No streaming over network, upscaler a bit too sharp and not as smooth as ps3, but hey that's it
