How light is too light? Panasonic is testing that hypothesis with the Panasonic HDC-SD10 and Panasonic HDC-TM10, the world's current lightest high-definition camcorders.
high-definition camcorders at CES as well, but apparently they were simply not light enough. Panasonic had significantly reduced the overall size and weight of the two aforementioned camcorders, but in an age where small is the new large regarding ...
The Panasonic HDC-SD10 is a great pocket camcorder that manages to combine diminutive dimensions with good-quality, 1080p high-definition video. Beginners will have no problems using it, but there are plenty of options to keep more experienced users ...
Small and light ; welcome balance between simplicity and advanced features ; pleasing video picture quality
Weak photo quality ; some construction issues ; over-eager autofocus
If small size and low weight are important considerations, but you don't want the poor-quality video that's typical of pocket camcorders, you should consider the Panasonic HDC-SD10
Pocket camcorders tend to compromise fairly drastically on features and image...
High-definition video, recorded straight to a memory card
Easy to use ; memory card shooting is cheap and convenient ; superb quality in slow-moving scenes
Motion blur was a problem ; relatively expensive
A decent camera, but better results can be had without spending much more
Poor video quality
Very poor video quality especially in low light. Kept Canon HF10 after direct comparison. The Canon was simply better all around for about the same price.

The only thing approaching a bad point is that my wife has not been able to download footage to the computer, though I have to point out that she has not opened the instruction manual for anything yet
The SD10 features a 16x optical zoom. You can zoom close to catch dynamic shots of distant objects. And because the zoom is optical, there's limited image degradation. Also, Panasonic's Advanced O.I.S. helps prevent blurring - typically a big concern when shooting with a zoom. This combination of optical zoom and Advanced O.I.S. gives you the ability to take fantastic zoom shots.Panasonic's Advanced O.I.S. helps suppress the effects of hand-shake as you shoot, for both motion and still...
