Panasonic PV-DV601 Camcorder Review - Panasonic MiniDV Camcorders

Panasonic's PV-DV601 is a nice mid-range MiniDV camcorder with an MSRP of $1099.95 and a street price of around $800. The camcorder produces nice quality video, however it lacks many features which make it a less than desirable product, leaving a gap...

Great Value, Good Quality

I got the DV601 as a christmas present. I've been very happy with it so far. I won't recap all the specifications, you can find the most accurate listing on panasonic's home page. I'll just tell you the things that aren't on their home page.

Beautiful Picture, Analog Inputs!

Bulkier than typical miniDV cameras

A great little camera

My wife and I have a 9 month old daughter and I have wanted a camcorder for a long time. The most important feature was that the camera needed to have a firewire (i.Link) port so I could edit the videos on the computer and then copy them onto CD. I...

I love my PV-DV601 !!!

I am a mother of two small children, age 4 and 5. I have always wanted a video camera to document the lives of my children as they grow up. Unfortunately, I've already missed the baby and toddler years, but I am quickly making up for that with my...

Good things come in small packages

We bought this digital camcorder right before the birth of our daughter. We did a lot of research before buying it. My husband read a lot of online reviews and time and time again, the Panasonic PV-DV601 was at the top of the lists.

Easy to use, compact, decent battery life, good quality video, USB and firewire connections

Digital picture resolution is not great, lack of advanced camcorder settings
