Panasonic SDR-T50 review: Panasonic SDR-T50

Panasonic SDR-T50

Very good image stabilization; well-designed; manual controls.

Low-resolution LCD; dated user interface; poor low-light video; no external mic, headphone jacks.

The Panasonic SDR-T50 standard-definition camcorder is worth considering for its manual controls and powerful zoom lens in a very compact body--not video quality.

The Panasonic SDR-T50 SD Camcorder Review

The Panasonic SDR-T50 is like having a small telescope that's able to capture standard-definition video. With its 70x lens you'll have no problem getting closer to your subject, and its ...

Consumer review (cnet.com)

"Bad image quality, & that's trying to be fair to it"

I'll sell it ASAP, to get a Samsung similar one. Already checked that one has much better picture and sound too.

Wider angle lens than most similar models, SD card storage, so-so image stabilization, long (too long) zoom (anyway, it needs a solid tripod to be useful when zoomed to 78X.

Blurry definition, not even up to 'standard definition' by any means. Colors are oversaturated, but lack enough gradations, so that image looks like a child's colored book! (not enough color depth).

It's OK

The reason why I bought this was for the zoom feature, so I am not going to return it. However, if the zoom wasn't so fun, there would be no point in buying this product. To wrap it up: Buy it if you want a miniature telescope that records "video"....

78x optical Zoom obviously. The optical image stabilization works very well. Being able to focus on an object at 78x zoom without a tripod is quite amazing

I know that this is a standard def camera, but my 1992 Hi-8 camcorder takes clearer videos than this thing. I did playback of the XP (best quality) video on my 27inch CRT SD TV and saw stutters during fast movement. The edges were very blurred and...
