I have had this camcorder for around 18 months and have had no problems with it until now. It appears that the ribbon cable which connects the LCD screen to the camera has developed a break due to the screen having to be folded in and out during normal...

Well worth buying

 

A good buy; a good quality camera with excellent video and audio functions; unfortunately you have to buy firewire and tapes (and if you want, a spare battery). Of course, you could always go for the newer and more expensive models: the VP D351, VP...

The 20X optical zoom is excellent.The 'power night pix' function works well, just as long as there is some light somewhere.The stereo microphone is excellent.The manual is detailed and helpful.A good, smart looking model.

It comes with no PC cable, so you have to buy a 4 pin firewire cable and a firewire card if you don't already have one.It comes with no tapes.
