Sanyo VPC-HD2000

By Kaitlyn Chantry (washingtonpost.com)

If you don't know much about Sanyo's Xacti series of camcorders, blame the manufacturer's lack of popularity in the United States or perhaps the nontraditional upright body design. Their latest high definition model, the VPC-HD2000, is as worthy as ...

Sanyo has provided a number of features that will interest experienced videographers. There's no viewfinder, but you have a microphone input, headphone output, and accessory shoe. The manual controls are surprisingly robust, including an ISO/gain ...

Sanyo Xacti HD2000 Review

By Gavin Stoker (photographyblog.com)

Having witnessed much fanfare and enthusiasm (from Sanyo admittedly) at its recent UK press launch, naturally we're interested to see whether it performs better than its merely average predecessors. Of course, performance has to be weighed against ...

Having said all of the above, the Sanyo Xacti HD2000 is easy to use and, despite our reservations, what appears a rather simple gadget on the face of it becomes progressively more complex and appealing as you peel away the layers. For the moment it's ...

This is not the iFrame version

By Heymike (newegg.com)

Very good camera. Very good low light performance

This is not the newest version. Look for the VPC-HD2000A (Notice the "A" for American) with iFrame support, which is almost the same price

Great performance in low light

By Charlie Shaughnessy (newegg.com)

Ordered it from DigitalRev 3 months ago since Newegg didn't carry it at the time (but really wanted to go with Newegg)

Great picture quality, microphone input and cold shoe for holding a mic on the top of the cam are really useful. Extremely good low light shooting, colors stay vibrant, even though there is a little noise on the image . Pistol grip is actually pretty comf...

Switching between manual and autofocus for video shooting is challenging, and the autofocus system isn't that amazing. Also, cannot control gain for included mic, but can for external microphone

Love this dual camera

By KrypticMac (newegg.com)

i didnt get my xacti from newegg but i love it that i had to post about it.

its cheap for a high definition camera ; it can record in slow motion.240fps and 600fps ; for mac users its easy to edit with imovie at full-hr mode=1980x1080p at 60 frames per second ; you can get additional lenses for it. ie wide angle. half fish eye ;...

the only cons i can think of is to transfer stuff of the memory card you either have to have a card reader or hook the dock up. because there is no usb output on the camera itself. but other than that nothing that i can think of
