Sony Bloggie Touch

While Cisco has shuttered its popular Flip camera division for 2011, Sony forges ahead full steam with no less than four Bloggie variants, including the venerable Bloggie Touch. The 1080p pocket cam emphasizes style and ease of use with an...

Responsive, bright touchscreen ; Simple, easy to learn and use UI and controls ; Crisp, accurate stills and videos ; Ability to take stills during recording ; Slim, sleek, minimalist design

No SD card slot ; No audio output jack ; Chassis scratches easily; screen easily smudged ; Can be awkward to hold when shooting stills

Considering what you get for the price, the Sony Bloggie Touch stands among the top of its competition.

Sony Bloggie Touch MHS-TS20 (Silver)

There is a lot of competition in the minicamcorder/pocket video camera space. Sony's Bloggie Touch stands out for its design and build quality, which is centered around a 3-inch touch screen. Past Sony models were lacking in the look and feel...

Attractive, lightweight, and small; full use of 3-inch screen for shooting; autofocus macro; captures stills while shooting video; simple to use.

Autofocus can be slow; no memory expansion; no HDMI cable included; no mic or headphone jack; weak software.

If you're looking for a simple shoot-and-share minicamcorder, the Bloggie Touch is a good option--that is, as long as you understand its limitations.

Sony Bloggie Touch MHS-TS20 – With AutoFocus

There is plenty of competition right now in the market for minicamcorders. Sony's Bloggie Touch is different from the crowd out there in terms of build quality and design. There is a three inch touch screen interface which looks really good. Previous...

"Horrible Zoom Quality!"

Overall, the Bloggie is weak. It's focus is too slow and it's zoom doesn't work like a normal camera. It's auto-focus always wants to focus on the background and it's zoom simply does not work. And if you want to make some sort of movie......don't use...

The Sony Bloggie is a great-priced camera for nature photos and close-ups.

The Bloggie should not be used at a place where you will need to use the zoom. The quality goes from 13 megapixels (without zoom) to what looks like only about 2 or 3 megapixels (with zoom.)

"Good quality, great price!"

For a couple of years using the Flip Cam, one small drop to the floor had changed it forever. Some grainy lines started to appear on all my videos, so it was time to upgrade.

Amazing stabilizing feature

There can be some slight clicking on very low level audio

Consumer review by:

"Good video quality overall, auto-focus nightmares."

As a basic video camera, the Bloggie MHS-TS20 is reasonably good in its price range. Video quality is generally sharp and colors are reasonably vibrant.

Great video quality for a $149 (street price) unit. Easy to use even for beginners. Good pocket camera for trying to capture quick moments of life.

Autofocus basically doesn't.

"Great entry-level camcorder"

This has been a great camera for basic use. It does have a standard thread for a tripod, so you can put it on any of them. When on a tripod, the camera focuses extremely well, however you can hear it focusing in an out in the playback if you move it...

60 framerate with 720p resolution.

1080i limited to 30 fps

Consumer review by:

"Dreadful! Video very poor, the camera useless!"

Just dont do it!! It is a huge regret!

Looks nice, very neat. The camera is nice and sharp as long as its taken in broad daylight only.

Not fit for purpose - cant get worse than that! Camera cant take pics in false lighting as has no flash - the vid clicks dreadfully and is so blurred at times even when the subject is still.

Consumer review by:

"Overall best pocket camcorder you can get now."

Great pocket camcorder. Biggest problem is the portrait recording and i wish that the Bloggie would always record in landscape whether or not it is in portrait mode or not. Maybe this could be fixed in future firmwares. Not the greatest of computer...

Small, sleek, easy to use, great in direct light, 60fps is nice, big screen, nice build quality (feels very solid), touch screen is very responsive and not too sensitive, fast start-up, great outdoor quality

Don't like the portrait video recording at all, wish it had more features, software is mediocre, camera pictures, autofocus, not much accessories, digital zoom, wish it had a recording light, no expandable memory.
