Sony Handycam DCR-HC62

Excellent touchscreen interface, Thin, lightweight body, Impressive video quality, 1-megapixel still photos

Slightly underpowered 25X optical zoom, Requires Memory Stick flash cards

While both the Sony Handycam DCR-HC62 and JVC GR-D850 are almost equal in terms of video quality, the nearly $70 price difference between JVC's model and Sony's HC62 can be attributed to the latter's advanced LCD touchscreen. Consumers need to decide...

great camera, with some short-commings

a nice camera in design, and reputation, the sony hc62 is a fine camera that offers a good amount of bang for the buck. It offers plenty of fader, special effects, and low-light options, but it misses out on two big features; a video light, and title...

Picture quality; decent amount of features; small size

No video light; can't add titles to videos

Great camcorder for personal use!

I think this is a great camera for someone who just wants to be able to capture the special moments of their lives. The zoom allowed me to film animals from a distance without disturbing them, and I took it to the Rodeo and and could zoom in to see...

Great zoom and more image stabilization that I had expected, starts quickly, battery lasts if you shut it off in between shooting or close the LCD, easy to download onto PC and edit with WMM

You have to add the cost of getting your own iLINK because it only comes with the USB link (for transferring still pictures); you might want to get an extra battery that lasts longer than 1.5 hours
