Sony Action Cam Wi-Fi HDR-AS15

The action cam market is dominated by companies that don't have a history of making other types of cameras. There is no GoPro point-and-shoot or Contour digital SLR. So, when a manufacturer like Sony gets into the market, it's reasonable to think it...

The Sony Action Cam is a good entry in the POV camera market that includes a waterproof case with a standard tripod mount; is available with or without Wi-Fi; has a small, lightweight body; and offers a decent number of recording options.

Video quality is disappointing viewed at larger sizes; can't rotate lens or flip video 180 degrees; camera can't stand on its own and can't easily be used without a door on its case; no access to mic jack when inside case; no still photos beyond...

The Sony Action Cam is a solid first effort and worth its price, but some design shortcomings may be enough to put off some potential buyers.

Sony Action Cam review: a good rugged camera with a few software wrinkles

Until now, Sony's efforts in the element-stopping sports cam world had largely consisted of handhelds such as the Bloggie Sport HD and the waterproof Handycam. The $200 Action Cam, however, is an all-out hiking-boot-wearing adventurist, with a backpack...

Shoots good-quality video ; Great for slow-motion ; Easy to use

Limited photo mode ; Poor app functionality

Sony's Action Cam is a confident entry into the sports camera market, that is only marred by some easily fixable blemishes.

Sony HDR-AS15 Action Cam

Sony's new HDR-AS15 and HDR-AS10 action cams are shipping and production models are in the wild now. I've had a little time this evening the check out the HDR-AS15 and have to say that it's a slick little camera that should give GoPro and Contour some...

Sweet Action Camera - HDR-AS15

The camera size (small), with built-in Wireless WiFi for live video monitoring during recording, transfer to smart phone and computers without cabling is very nice. Synced nicely to my Sony tablet S and was able to remotely view what I was shooting....

The camera size (small), many accessories

That annoyning beep (which they just fixed)

My favorite POV

I have a GoPro Hero2 and a Sony Action Cam. I honestly can't get rid of either of them because I love some of the features exclusive to each.

Cost, Wifi app works well, 120fps is awesome, great sound, great picture

Can't turn off button beep, can't change settings while in case

Disappointed in this purchase

Based on some good reviews I purchased this for its low light capabilities and long recording time. Sounded like a good idea when I bought it . Unfortunately Ive found the low light capability to be very poor. Certainly less sensitive than the human...

Great for Time Lapse

I love this camera. It's more than just an action camera. you can shoot regular video and get high quality image AND stereo sound. mount it onto something and take sports or action video and the steady shot makes even bumpy rides into a very smooth...

1080p stable image, 120-170 angle, 120fps slow motion, high quality image even in low light. Great camera
