Superb 1080p Full HD video, effective spot focus/exposure, reliable auto mode

Too similar to Sony's high-end consumer offerings, limited audio options

With its bundled external microphone and exceptional image quality, the Sony HXR-MC50E camcorder is a reliable, all-in-one package that doesn't skimp on extras features. Professional videographers may require something a bit meatier though.

This camera rocks

been using this camera all semester to shoot extremely HQ video for our local TV station. It rocks. love the ease of use that borders on perfection. it practically shoots it's self.great for wide shots and works well for tight shots as well. could use...

Sony HXR-MC50E

Quick response to start shooting. Just the right weight to alleviate tiredness in your arms if you don't carry a mono-pod. Flip out screen is good once you get used to it. If you don't use a tripod then use the external microphone for good sound quality.

I would have been willing to pay more for a bigger view finder with a decent cup, however, when the guarantee runs out I'll be doing a bit of DIY on that part.

Great picture quality & very easy to use.

Microphone holder breaks where it fits into the mini hotshoe. Apparently not covered by warranty. Very poor!

lightweight and neat to travel. Good video image and good photo - wide angle. Photos load onto my MAC 17' Laptop Power book MAC OSX VERSION 10.5.8. and work with Photoshop ++++ BUT NOT THE VIDEOS. PLEASE ADVISE ME.

THE VIDEO will NOT DOWNLOAD onto my Above DETAILED PROBLEMS PowerMac LAPTOP MAC OSX Version 10.5.8 The Software is not compatible and wont accept the video. I was not aware of this problem before purchasing this item. So my videos are still not...
