2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS

By (cnet.com)

The 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS is among the most tech-equipped cars available at its price, offering touch screen navigation, Bluetooth, and a 650-watt audio system with a 30GB hard drive.

Lots of guy-racer styling add-ons aren't backed up with much actual performance. Torque steer mars the otherwise entertaining front-drive handling.

While the new Lancer GTS boasts amenities not seen on other cars in its class, a powerful engine isn't one of them. But if rally car looks, nice tech options, and a booming stereo are more your speed, this Mitsubishi is an excellent choice.

2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution

By (cnet.com)

The turbocharger and the MIVEC system on the 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX's engine deliver a jaw-dropping performance, while a smart differential system gives the car amazing grip even when pushed to extremes

The lack of a trip computer and a GPS system in the 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX is noticeable even while you're having fun out in the countryside, while an acceleration dead zone before 3,500rpm can lead to unpleasant surprises in traffic

The 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX is a fantastically fun car to drive spiritedly and show off to friends, but the lack of in-cabin technology and sudden engine power can make it a bit tiresome in everyday driving.

2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS review

By donjb (cnet.com)

CNET... stick to what you know (not cars). Yo...

With all this good tech, a stiff chassis providing enjoyable handling traits and a price just into the low-$20,000 range, the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS proves that a budget car can have as many or more cabin gadgets than an expensive luxury cruiser.
