MUKii TransImp TIP-Q120U3SI SATA/IDE to USB 3.0 Adapter Review

Special thanks to MUKii for providing us with the TransImp TIP-Q120U3SI SATA/IDE to USB 3.0 Adapter to review.

Supports both IDE and SATA drives ; USB 3.0 Interface ; Easy to use ; Hot swappable

Connection cables might not be long enough for some

This adapter has pretty steady results compared with the previous USB 3.0 devices we’ve reviewed. Using the USB 3.0 interface will work on USB 2.0 ports, but it's highly recommended to use a USB 3.0 port.

Sharkoon X-Tatic 5.1 Digital Headset Review

When you hear Dolby 5.1 or 2.0, do you really know what that means? Most people just go with the highest number, or the most expensive, without understanding the meaning behind it. I will give a quick lesson. The first number is the amount of full...

Stylish ; PC/Xbox360/PS3 Compatibility ; Plug and Play ; Full Dolby Pro Logic/2.0/5.1 Support ; Sound Control Unit ; Digital and Analog Inputs ; Cushioned Ear Pads

Tons of Wires

I was thoroughly impressed with the Sharkoon X-Tatic 5.1 Digital Headset. I have a 5.1 surround sound home theater system in my living room and an Altec Lansing 5.1 speaker set for my PC. However, because of the need to properly distance and mount the...

Sharkoon SATA Quickport Duo USB 3.0 Dual HDD Docking Station Review

It's no secret, USB 3.0 is out. Now that there have been many real world benchmarks thrown onto the web, many companies are releasing their USB 3.0 products into the fray. One of the biggest areas that USB 3.0 is making a difference is with storage and...

USB 3.0 ; Backwards Compatible ; Dual Dock ; Supports SATA 3.5" and 2.5" Drives ; LED Lights for Power and HDD Access

None

Overall, I was impressed with the transfer speeds of the Sharkoon Quickport Duo USB 3.0. When doing the real world file transfers with 1 and 10GB worth of files, my times were nearly cut in half in all of the transfer situations when using the USB 3.0...

Sharkoon Rush FireGlider Laser Gaming Mouse

Get ready to set the world on fire with Sharkoons full featured gaming peripheral.

There is one very subtle but important omission from this list of specifications and that is the ability to side-scroll with this mouse. It seems to have become a standard feature of most mice on the market, but it seems to have been skipped for this...

Sharkoon X-Tatic Digital 5.1 Headphones

Sharkoon are a relatively new company with a fresh product that is sure to make many users re-think their notion of 5.1 sound.

To conclude, the Sharkoon X-Tatic digital are simply the best sounding and most innovative pair of headphones I've ever used. They are well built, perform equally well across the board and support just about any device you can think of. Along with...

Lamptron Hummer 5-Port Military Switch Baybus

The Lamptron Electronics website is like an Aladdin's cave of modders' treasures and trinkets. Today, from their hoard we are looking at the Hummer 5-Port Military Switch Baybus. Rated for 100W of power per switch, this baybus can handle much more than...

The Lamptron Hummer Baybus is a great looking fan controller. It is rated for 100w per switch so can be used to control pretty much anything running on 12v with a Molex connector. Its Achilles heel is that it only supports 12v and off, so it doesn't...

Sharkoon X-Tatic Digital Headset Review

Over the past couple of weeks I have had the pleasure of testing out the new X-Tatic Digital Headset by Sharkoon. This is a gaming headset that provides full Dolby 5.1 surround sound straight from your PS3 or Xbox 360 console right to your hungry...

I would definitely recommend this headset to any gamer who wants to experience the most out of his/her gaming sessions. For more information you can head on over to the Sharkoon website. For now, I gotta put these back on and get back to my game!

Best set I ever owned

This is a very good headset for music, movie, gaming. Got the set for almost a year now, and still very satisfied with it. But you have to expect that a set of that price should be connected to a very good quality sound card. I connect it to a SB X-Fi...

Very good sound for everything ; Digital sound ; Analog sound ; true 5.1 positioning ; Extremely confortable

Digital sound has little blips and crackles ; A bit pricey ; CMedia USB microphone drivers when using digital on a PC sounds very muddy

Very Good Adapter

Like all docking stations, the disk is in open air, in a vertical position, and gets little airflow. To correct that, I added a fan to the rear of the unit to cool the drive. That works great on 2TB and larger drives that tend to run hot without it....

This was my main raw disk interface for over a year. It got a LOT of use. Bottom line: the thing WORKS, WELL. Connectors will fail under heavy use. They can be replaced

After a year or so, the SATA connector failed with a bent pin. I emailed Sharkoon in Taiwan, conversed with a tech, sent them a few pictures and they sent me a connector to replace the busted one. The replacement took maybe 15 minutes, and I have a new...

Microphone broken right out of the box.

I will revise this review when I get the replacement headset and put it through it's paces.

The little amount of listening I've done with the headset sounds great. It's the only reason it doesn't get 1 egg

Unfortunately, the microphone was broken right out of the box. I've connected the headset 5 different way and searched thoroughly for possible software issues just to be sure. This is my first higher-end headset, and so far I"m disappointed. Hopefully...
