ASUS DVD-RW DRW-24B1ST Optical Drive

When it comes time to make a optical drive purchase, most of us tend to make our choices based on pricing. Although optical drives have not changed to much over the last few years, users should still take a look at the quality of the drive and the...

Great Price ; Decent Read/Write Performance ; Excellent Quality on Burns ; Bundled Software ; Saves Money

The Asus DRW-24B1ST comes in a standard retail box. Looking at the front of the box, we see that Asus has provided us with a full list of supported media and their maximum burn speeds. Across the lower section we see an icon indicating that this drive...

The DRW-24B1ST proved to be a solid performer during testing while still running quietly and efficiently. Burn quality is reliable too – I burned everything from movies to data to music with this drive and each and every disc turned out perfect. The...

ASUS DRW-24B1ST DVD-RW Optical Drive -

We've all been waiting for Fermi for so long that when it finally came through the door, it was almost like a dream. With a newly redesigned core and 3.2 Billion transistors and 512 CUDA cores (480 exposed), the GTX-480 is one cutting edge powerful GPU...

The ASUS DRW-24B1ST is a very quiet drive that comes with a worthy software bundle. It's definitely not the fastest optical drive available, but considering how quiet and "green-minded" the DRW-24B1ST is, it might be the perfect drive for a home...

All DVD-burners are the same, right? So what makes one better than the next. It's rare these days to hear about an optical drive, with all the other components that are getting faster, greener, and cheaper. Today, Benchmark Reviews is taking a look at...

Consumes 1W Less Power than Average ; E-Green Software Shows Energy Saved ; E-Hammer Software Makes Data Unrecoverable ; OTS Produces Optimal Burning Strategies ; AVRS Makes for a Really Quiet Drive ; Bundled with Nero-8 Essentials ; 24x DVD-burning...

No SATA Cable Included

The results of the testing are in, and the ASUS DRW-24B1ST has not disappointed. It performed as well as any drive of comparable speed and type out there. We can't be too surprised that the DRW-24B1ST solidly outperformed an external USB 2.0 burner,...

Not much to say about this. Reads the disks quick and well as opens quick when you hit the button. Good buy for the price

Good Value

No reason to spend more unless you want blu ray. Solid pickup for any budget or mid-priced build, or if you need to replace an OEM drive on an older machine.

Makes an awesome sound when I boot up. Shallow kicks, I know, but it really does sound cool. No-fuss installation, and worked fine with my ASRock mobo without having to install any drivers. GREAT performance for the money. Wrote a system image disc in...

None really. Won't do blu-ray, but neither will anything else in this price range

My old LG lasted 3 years. This one lasted about a month. Spent more for shipping it around than for the drive. Not very reliable.

Spent more time in the mail than in the system. 40 days and it died. Have to send it back to CA for RMA. Spent more on mail than for the drive
