Be forewarned: This device requires the connection to TWO USB ports to provide adequate power. There is no ability to add an external power adaptor, and it is not guaranteed to work with a hub. Otherwise, it seems to burn and read fine.

I used the external drive to upgade my netbook from Windows XP to Windows 7. The system had no trouble recognizing and booting from the drive.
