Sony BDU-X10S BD-ROM Drive Review

By John Delaney (computershopper.com)

Easy to install ; good video playback ; supports three media types

Only reads Blu-ray at 2x ; doesn't record Blu-ray or DVD media

Sony's BDU-X10S gives you the ability to play Blu-ray, DVD, and CD media on your desktop PC, but you can't burn discs with this drive.

No DVD burner - if you had a HTPC and only one slot for a optical drive this is a limitation. Expensive at a $150. PowerDVD 7.3 that comes with it is crippled. Spend another $80 for an upgrade to PowerDVD9 Ultra on top of the $150 for 5.1 sound
